    It was great to see Verlander on the mound. Sounds like our actual lineup of our starters won't be used till Tuesday....

    Different approach from STL but we have a veteran squad.

    BTW, if Verlander pitches on a five day rotation (4 Off Days) beginning today, he is set up for opening day after 4 Spring Training Starts. He would pitch again Wednesday. We'll wait and see. 2,3,4,5 inning outings? He does love his routine. Possible tandem Starters for the other 3 games of Spring training with an off day every fifth day.

    Valdez, Garcia, Urquidy, Javier, Odorizzi and a Minor Leaguer who pitches well. Minimize the load on the BP for a few weeks with the tandem starters.

    We have holes at SS and CF and Dusty refuses to play any of the guys who will compete for those jobs until Tuesday, in an already shortened spring

    makes perfect sense

    Regular players have been in camp less than a week. Minor leaguers have been there longer. Probably not trying to rush the 40 man roster players into game situations.

    Not sure what kind of message he's trying to send since they have only lost 1 position player from a world series team.

    It’s obviously very early, so it will be interesting to see how this changes, but Verlander’s stuff is not there yet.
