I've been waiting for a thread about this for a while. The Rockets will likely get their pick this draft and they are loaded with injuries. Adebayo has been out for almost a month, and tonight Butler had to be helped off the court for a non contact knee injury. I never want to see anyone go down, especially Jimmy. That said, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be watching them more closely the rest of the season. If the Heat go down in the standings drastically, it opens a lot of options for the Rockets this summer and potentially this trade deadline.
Your hope is they are bad but not too bad. You want them to barely get in the playoffs. If they miss then the Rockets get the Nets pick which would be no bueno.
You would be right to quickly presume they will. The risk I guess would be if they end up at the 7 or 8th spot then really anything could happen with the odd play in tournament they have going now. Likely though they will remain at least at the 6th seed with such a deep team.
I'm reading on a Heat Forum, that Butler's injury in an ankle injury, so he'll likely be back for the playoffs.
Spoelstra said Jimmy was telling him he was "ok" after the game, but that's Butler talking. They're holding him out of Wednesday's game for sure is the last I heard. With all the mess going on in Brooklyn, I thought we'd hopefully get their pick because I thought the team would suffer. If they fell apart, that pick isn't lottery-protected like the Heat pick.
