Well deserved. 3 good months there and might get to finish the year in AA, which would position him to shoot up the rankings next year.
To think the Rays way, what if James followed an opener. Have Devo get 4 outs, then go to James. If he gives up a few walks to latter part of the line-up it probably doesn't get punished as much.
Harris has reestablished himself as a top setup man, so I'd rather he stay there. Rondon I think would be great as an opener. Devo, the only thing he's good for at this point is throwing BP. Sad, but true. I really like him, and I wish him the best, but he's sucked for almost a whole year now.
The Astros as a whole are getting wrecked from the juiced ball. The high-FB/breaking combo is susceptible to weak contact getting knocked out the park. There were a bunch of garbage FB's to right field going for HR's this series. I don't think Devo is as bad as he's been recently. He's gone from elite HR prevention (0.33 HR/9) in 2016 to almost 2 HR/9 this year. Verlander is certainly getting burned by it.
He's been basically unpitchable outside of blowouts since last July. Also, he gave up 7 bombs in 13+ innings after July 1.
Fly ball pitchers are having a tough time. My biggest gripe with the juiced ball is that it adds an unpredictable element to the game. Astros have worked hard to be a great team. The random nature of this ball gives bad teams an extra chance in an already random sport. Variance is a tool the weak hope on.
He is alive, that's all we know. In Extended ST I assume/hope, so I doubt we'll know anything until the short-season teams are announced.
Yeah the weird "Astros project". He doesn't even turn 20 until mid August. Astros took him higher than most expected..... taking him in round 2 as a high schooler and also changing his position. They paid over slot I believe as well, so someone really likes him.
Would be pretty dope if he came out and posted a 1000+ ops for Tri-City over 200+ pa. (Not holding my breath.)

Seth Beer just hit his 9th home run of the season for Fayetteville. He's currently 2-3 and has driven in both of the Woodpeckers' runs tonight.

The video doesn't show the entire play. Pitcher threw to first with a pickoff attempt. They seemed to forget Tucker was on third and he smartly took off for home. Very Jeff Bagwellesque.
