Players that Rockets need LeBron James, Paul George, Scoring Power Forward Aaron Gordon in small lineups to matchup with Draymond. Wil Barton is really good shooting 3 pointers and knows how to attack the basket, RFA Fred VanFleet, maybe he develops Bryn Forbes, Clippers RFA Montrezl Harrell, Shooting off the bench Ersan Ilyasova http://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/
Tobias Harris, Devin Booker, Goran Dragic, Terry Rozier Wish Rockets can trade for but is next to impossible
Aaron Afflalo,Tyreke Evans, Mike Beasley, Ed Davis, Rodney Hood. Plus we already have Hartenstein and Joe Che on the roster for the minimum
Wish list - assuming we re-sign Paul: Star level: Lebron George Role player: Evans Redick KCP Hezonja
There're a lot of players that can be interesting for the Rockets, but in the end reality is we're going to have only the MLE to sign one player out of Luc and those guys available, unless Morey goes under the cap enough to sign a star, which is highly unlikely. If we can get Lebron or George via trade, resign Gerald and Wright at the minimum and get Luc back with the MLE i'd be fine tbh, it's really hard to expect better than that.
Aside from LeBron, I would take Aaron Gordon/Julius Randle outta everybody. Hard to beat youth that already flashes elite status.
I would replace the often injured Wright with Hartenstein. Are you assuming that Ariza will be gone? It would be nice to have back with the vet's minimum. I like Luc a lot, but I'm not sure about bringing him back after his unfortunate shoulder injuries.
Tobias Harris = Cupcake Devin Booker = Another cupcake Dragic = Not needed and too overpriced for what he brings Rozier = Would take but Celtics are not letting him go. Series against the Warrior is a war and it is us who need to play like men, like warriors. Warriors have too much talent, so we need to get just enough talent to compete with them on that level but more importantly, we need to play 48 minutes of tough physical basketball with them. This is how we took the series to 7 games against them. The guys you named above do not fit the bill to me as tough physical players. I would take Rozier because he can be a deadly shooter and seems to be fearless but the rest are going to disappear, IMO, in a tough 7 game series. Even Rozier is a huge liability on defense.
I seriously doubt Redick is going to come down far enough from the $23M he made this year for us to be able to fit him in.
Personally i think Ariza stays for cheap (not for the minimum though), but who knows. I'd be ok with Wright as one of our 3/4 centers, just to have depth, as the main back up he's definitely risky. As for Luc i don't know, depends on who we get before, if we get Lebron or George while still having PJ and Trevor, i think we might be better with using the MLE on a pg/sg (especially if Gordon will be gone), but resigning Luc wouldn't be bad either imo, he was great this season, sucks he got injured in the worst possible moment but eh, same thing for Chris.
