Brett Adair had the most insane feed (his car is washed away now). I can't believe they went to Mexico Beach right before landfall. I was concerned there were for sure going to die for a little while, but his wife has posted on FB that he is ok. Well he is ok for now, who knows with by tomorrow. The highest point is 22 feet where he and his driver were/are. The surge came in so fast and they had to evacuate their car and break into a beach house.. the feed was still going on for like 15-20 min and the car started floating away. Pretty incredible and also psychotic on their part.
This was a bad one. I was up really early to travel for work, and I couldn't believe how fast it deepened into a strong category 4. This is yet another reminder that we need to be prepared: https://www.texastribune.org/2018/10/03/army-corps-set-propose-hurricane-protection-plan-houston/
Strange that they won't just call this hurricane a Cat 5 -- the 155 mph reported has a margin of error of at least 2 mph I would think -- everything else about it is Cat 5.
