You were talking whatever you could disagree with me with. If you haven't already noticed, Houston can barely handle regular rain, much less Hurricane Season remnants.
Is there a way I can see which roads are currently flooded? I'm in Livingston and will be leaving for Cypress at around 5pm. https://traffic.houstontranstar.org/roadclosures/#highwater ^Found what I was looking for
What's going on down there? Seriously, was there that much rain to cause this much flooding? I was actually shocked when talking to my parents and they told me that I-10 had cars flooded out and there were roads shut down.
Harris county got pretty pummeled for a few hours. At my apartment we got like 6" of rain in 4 hours. About 3.5" of that came in a 75 minute span.
I get what you're saying...but there was over 7 inches of rain that fell over a very short period of time in areas. That's equivalent to rainfall totals for some areas impacted by hurricanes. It doesn't have to be a hurricane, or even a depression, to create massive amounts of rain over a very short period of time.
It didn’t seem to rain all that heavily out in the Katy area. So did not choose to evacuate. If we weren’t relatively close to having experienced Harvey I don’t think the 4th would have been anything crazy. It was a **** ton of rain but streets are made to flood. No big deal.
