I am quite sure everyone feels this way. I was stuck at home Sunday afternoon to today so looking up random crap was one way to stay sane outside of running a chainsaw trimming trees and cutting firewood.
Probably isn't the place to put this but didn't feel like making a new thread. Signed up for a free trial of The Athletic and it had a cool article on the Astros which had this interesting tidbit: "Meanwhile, the Astros rolled out a lineup that hit a ridiculous .327/.421/.614/1.036 as a team in this series. And you don’t see that much – by which we mean ever. That’s the best OPS any offense has ever had in a postseason series of any length. And that .421 on-base percentage is tied with the 1932 Yankees for the best OBP any team has ever had in a postseason series. Yeah, we said ever." Pretty awesome what we are witnessing here.
It’s even nicer when you combine that with only giving up 13 hits in three games. Can’t wait until the ALCS starts!
Just hope our pitching can stay that dialed in. It’s a lot to ask, even with as talented as the staff is.
Here are some excerpts from this Fangrpahs article that chronicle that the ALDS was an all-time beatdown: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-astros-gave-the-indians-an-all-time-beating/ No series before had ever seen such a big difference in team OBP. No series before had ever seen such a big difference in team slugging. And so, no series before had ever seen such a big difference in team OPS. .. The Astros-Indians ALDS also didn’t generate many memorable moments, yet it all came together for a memorable outcome. That was a beatdown. That was a complete and utter beatdown, like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Not by the numbers. Not by almost literally all of the meaningful numbers.
