Kyle Tucker went 3-4. I wonder if the Astros got discouraged enough for them to trade him for JT, especially if he finish hot in the minors for him to raise his stock again.

No. The Astros don’t make knee jerk reactions.

The division race is too close to give Tucker the ABs needed to adjust to major league pitching, especially considering how poorly he started and how well Kemp has played, so they sent him down so he would have a chance to play. His status as a future core piece has not changed. (That’s not to say they won’t trade him, just that the last month hasn’t changed the FO’s view of him and his value.)

Right...and also with the various injuries and slumps they couldn’t ‘hide’ him in the lineup.

DeGoti has really surprised me, I did not expect him to have success in AA. Double digit HR power, solid SS defense, low k rate. If he walked more he’d be a statistical stud. Totally has a chance to reach the majors.

His stock never dropped in the first place.

Jeremy Pena hit his first professional HR. He's had solid strikeout and walk rates so far, but that .040 ISO isn't encouraging. Even that HR was only 97 mph off the bat.

Probably gives you an idea on some of the pitchers the Astros intend to add to the 40-man this offseason.

Chuckie Robinson has an ops over 1000 since July 1. He was 4-5 with a double and a triple today. Quite a turnaround. He will likely be able to start next season in AA now.

Has there ever been a player (i.e. Realmuto) on another team that so many posters had a hard on to trade for? I swear there is at least a post a day that mentions Realmuto.

When was the last time the best catcher in the league was being shopped during his age 27 season? If Buster Posey would have been made available 4 years ago I’m sure a lot of us would have wanted him.

The fact he wasn't traded shows you they are asking for the moon and is unlikely to happen, especially with the Astros, given what they want. The Astros have yet to bulge on trading their top prospects under Lunhow's reign and I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.

Brett Phillips? Wasn't he #2 or 3 at the time of the trade? I remember (and looking back at old posts confirms it) that at that time, people were WAY more pissed about trading him than trading Hader.

This. And the Astros were at the very least asking for him during the trade deadline. Maybe get a better grasp on what is going to take to acquire him down the road. Also, the Astros are dry in catching prospects in the minors and no one in the MLB roster excites you (Stassi) for the future.

Rodgers is already on the 40-man. Probably gives him the leg up to be the 1st call-up should they need it.

It doesn't hurt his chances, that's for sure, but at the same time he's had 4 starts at AAA since TJS, and hasn't exactly been lights out. If they needed just a body to pitch, he'd be the obvious choice, but I imagine they'd feel James gives a much better chance of winning the game. Given the surprisingly close division race now, I would hope that would win out.

Jayson Schroeder went 3IP 1 H 0R 0BB 4K in the GCL today. Still hasn't given up a run on the season.

Franny Cobos with a nearly identical 3IP 1H 0R 0BB 3K to continue his nice season in the DSL. He erased that one runner on a DP too.
