The Astros currently have $2,551,400 remaining in their pool. Cody Deason, César Salazar, and Chandler Taylor's bonuses have yet to be disclosed.

Astros will obviously save some money considering that Schreiber is a senior

So it’s just Schroeder, Conine, Conn, Cabral, and Billingsly they are still waiting on?

Of the draftees to be aggressively assigned, I was not expecting the guy who hit .230 this year.

I'm assuming it's all about the glove.

Power. 38 homers in his three seasons at Bama.

I believe he was hampered by injuries for a good chunk of this season.

Thank you yet again. I paid no attention to the draft this year.

What's the word on the 2nd Rnd HS pitcher...Schroeder?

His high school's graduation ceremony is this coming Monday and he will not make any decisions until after he walks.

Astros are going to need to go well over slot to lure Schroeder away from college. The luxury of using picks in the first ten rounds, like the ninth round pick on college seniors who will sign under slot.

Id guess he gets 1.75-2 mil offered of the bonus pool. He is no doubt first round talent

I would be very surprised if the Astros and Schroeder did not have a verbal agreement prior to him being selected.

I agree with no worries, there's little reason to think they took a gamble on a tough sign given how small their draft pool was. The majority of the time, the team calls the player's agent and gets their desired number. If it's workable, then they draft them. Really tough signs in the top 10 rounds happen pretty infrequently these days, maybe a handful per year.

I bet he signs closer to slot or if anything a 100-200k overslot, not double the slot value.

Consensus on the kid wasn't even close to first round. BA had him at 72 and MLB.com at 98. Not saying that the Astros don't have a 1st round grade on him internally, but there isn't anything to suggest he was a top prospect that fell.

More than likely Schroeder was one of those third round high school prospects the Stros were ruing not being able to draft because of their slot money situation. So they just drafted the one they liked the most in the 2nd instead and will hope he bites on an offer.

I read, not going to have another Nix situation. They want to make sure they've got the dollars before making an agreement.

Devin Conn and Riley Cabral have been added to Tri-Cities' roster, so they have apparently signed. France, Billingsley, and Daniels are playing in the CWS, so they won't sign until they are eliminated (or win)
