I agree with this, if only to fill in the dead times between each event. They had Shaq and Kenny + 2 rappers do pop-a-shot, which was such a waste of time. (Skills challenge -> first round of horse -> Dunk contest -> final round of horse -> 3pt contest) would be my preference.
Diallo was the only exciting thing about this whole weekend, getting dunks on the first try actually and then nailing them too. If he had dunked over Shaq without that slight push if would've been insane, but that was still amazing with the elbow. The clear agenda to get Dennis Smith to the finals was silly and it showed, though I give him credit for that one handed dunk with the rasta guy tossing it up.
I didn't watch but let me guess? The slam dunk contest sucked again like Kendall Jenner on Spring Break?
I saw some highlights this morning...all the dunks looked basic as hell, and the ones where somebody jumped over another guy involved them pushing off that person’s shoulders...Collins had this really lame one where he tried to dunk over a plane...it looked weak, glad I missed it
They need to put the dunk contest on tape delay and edit out all the nonsense and missed dunks. Why do the contestants think off the side of the backboard is a good idea or innovative?
I hate All-Star weekend so much. Back in the day there was at least lots of trade speculation/leaks/stories as the weekend went on and general managers were able to meet face to face all weekend. Post Boogie trade we don't even have that. So it just means 7 days or so that I have no real basketball and no real basketball stories to follow. SO BORING. Thank you for reading my rant. I needed to vent.
If you made a video of just the made dunks, it wouldn't go for too long. If you made a video of all the missed dunks, you'd be watching for about 15 minutes.
Dunk contest was terrible as usual. 3 pt contest was much more entertaining. Atleast Zion next year can bring some hype back to the dunk contest
Harden got a big cheer in the intros. I was worried Harden wouldn't get any cheers. Kawhi and Kyrie got no cheers. I was legit anticipating the announcer was going to take a dig at Harden in the intro's but he didn't.
