Since CL is the highest level of professional football, that's a given. It's probably higher than NBA due to much bigger worldwide following. But what about Europa League? Is it the NIT of UEFA and seen as a lesser losers tournament? Do many people even watch or attend?
It depends. For the best teams from a high profile league like La Liga, Premier League or Bundesliga, qualifying "just" for Europa League would be a huge disappointment. For clubs from these leagues who can't compete anyway with Barca, ManCity or Bayern, it's a huge success to make it. Same for teams from smaller countries or less competitive leagues. Attendance or attention really depends on the popularity of the competitors. For example, Dortmund didn't make it to the Champions League elimination stage but will compete in the Europa League now. Their 80,000 people stadium will still be sold out and the game will have high ratings here in Germany (you can probably say the same about Arsenal or Atletico). But it's still something like a consolation gift. For one of the smaller clubs from a smaller country, winning the EL could mean the world, but for a team like ManUtd, who won the title last year, it's nothing too special. Nothing compared to the Champions League trophy.
Would think it's like a tourney for 2nd round postseason losers. Manchester United won it last year, there are some high caliber teams playing.
Germany-France-Netherlands in Nation League group A1. Talk about a nice draw. They even had to invent a new tournament just to cheer the Dutch brehs up and now this.
Still didn't get what that **** is all about. Probably just another way to generate money and to run down the players.
Well it replaces the unnecessary friendly matches and also helps the top teams for Euro qualifiers, so I'm fine with it. Not one more game added to the calendar and some cool matchups.
Neymar will be in another uniform by 2020. Hopefully he can lead PSG to a Champions League before that happens.
If the guy really changes clubs again, I hope fans boo the F out of him at his new club and realize that he's the ultimate mercenary with zero loyalty and integrity. What a bich.
Kicker saying BVB and Arsenal have agreed on a fee for Aubameyang, 63mil. Giroud not joining Dortmund, Anthony Modeste a target.
Makes sense for mah Gunners but I doubt BVB can get equal replacement in return, I mean, the window is closing fast. All those names thrown out there sound fishy at best. In other news. Aubameyang Deal will be made official today, Batshuayi as replacement (loan for now). Giroud likely joining Chelsea.
