Those things regarding practice were known at Madrid already, it's just that he had terrific rosters and won titles, so the narrative got turned into "it's brilliant, he keeps the players moderately rested and focused for the important games". Think it's not about passion, but when you hear how his teams barely practice and how there's no video analysis, he seems like a coach that isn't up to today's technical standards. There's a reason why so many youngsters are outcoaching the old generation nowadays, understanding of the game and coaching programs have significantly improved. Guys like Guardiola, Tuchel and Nagelsmann are known to dedicate a ridiculous amount of their time to football and preparing their teams, especially when it comes to practice drills and video analysis.
I understand, but if they knew what the strengths and weaknesses of a coach such as Anchelotti are - why not just decide on a staff or personnel on behalf of Carlo.......Carlo still gets paid like a monarch, gets his one assistant coach. He coaches in game and some other guy carrying out drills or practices alongside the players with Anchelotti observing or giving feedback. Modernity doesn't say the coach must do everything, it is a plus but reasonable division of tasks and assignments is key. That goes for players, coaches, and managers.
All true, which is why many fans are heavily blaming Rummenigge and Hoeneß and want to see a complete overhaul soon. Tuchel would be a great choice, he's known to do things his way and won't back down from our front office, especially when it comes to making personnel decisions. And then maaaybe you'll see Hoeneß and Rummenigge stepping down to give this club a much needed fresh start.
I know they prolly select a local coach but I think after the European Cup a slew of Portuguese young coaches were successful but I dun see many in the Bundesliga.
Vast majority of teams here prefer a coach proficient in German, as it is a pretty difficult language and you want to communicate with players as best as possible. Bayern tried to take a different path with Pep and Ancelotti, but it clearly backfired and reiterated those sentiments.

He's getting paid...I'd probably do the same. Have to say he is handling this with more class than Bayern, but then again, in contrast to them, he is probably very limited by his contract as long as he is still getting paid. Watch this space for more from him in 10 months...
Soo Uli opened up about the meeting with Pep I posted. "I told Pep whom we are going to appoint as a our new coach in the next few days. He was satisfied." This should confirm a Tuchel signing, Pep originally wanted him to be his successor and holds him in extremely high regards.
Romero, Pedrosi and Tuttomercato now saying Luis Enrique is the clear frontrunner and closing in on a signing, this would be such a weird and out of nowhere choice. Praying it's Tuchel instead.
Yeah another guy who would prefer the Spanish speaking guys..... beginning of the end. Enrique in his own right a solid coach but might not be a good fit.
Maybe Bayern should think about getting a squad of managers that can take over duties for a while and give the others a chance to rest just like the players? Surely Ancelotti just needs a breather. He's coached like 39 straight games with almost no down time.
