Did the umps catch it or did the other team complain? It's a rule, once the umps are notified of it, they have to check it out, and foreign substance = ejected. It's a dick move if they did it without a prior complaint, though.

I'll always remember the Joe Niekro emery board incident, dude threw it on the turf like nobody would notice. "Uh, yeah, that ain't mine."

Brewers definitely the surprise team so far with a record of 17-6 . I know it's very early... But so far they are 4.5 games ahead in the tough central.

Jose Fernandez from the Marlins might just be the best pitcher in the game today. Too bad Marlins will probably trade him for half of the moon and few stars one day :)

Hey, maybe a certain team who plays at Crawford and Texas may have a boatload of prospects to trade at a time when they're finally ready to compete. A long-suffering Astros fan can dream, right?

Poor Yu Darvish. Lost the no hitter with 2 outs in the 9th again. David Ortiz single gets through the shift.

I used to like Harold Reynolds. He is making an absolute jackass out of himself on MLB Network right now. Says Ortiz's pop fly in the 7th that was ruled an error was the worst call in the history of the game. Says it should've been ruled a hit. On a pop fly that should have easily been caught but the 2nd baseman and outfielder couldn't communicate well enough.

    What an idiot.

Surely this has to be the worst year for Tommy John surgery ever.

Fernandez threw 174 innings last year, at 20 years old. Was that too much of a workload? It seems a bit taxing on a young arm.

The Oakland A's are truly an incredible franchise , the amount of success they have consistently with so low payrolls. I know they haven't won a World Series under this Moneyball approach. But they produce so many wins and playoff berths with so lil $$. This year their offense is just filthy ridiculous. Run differential of 100 runs I believe !!!!!

So many awesome baseball injuries...ruining your shoulder trying to tear a phone book in half because the team hired some motivational speakers and you wanted to imitate them is my personal favorite.
