I'm assuming he meant after the 1st round (all 3 games). The next game against Cuba should be much like the last 2 games. Costa Rica is always tough. If things somehow stay as they are, we'd face either El Salvador or Trinidad & Tobago...and mexico would be out (lol). Though, I don't expect it to hold. I assume mexico can at least tie Canada and beat Martinique...right?
This is how I see it playing out. Group 1: 1st. Panama 2nd. Mexico 3rd. Martinique 4th. Canada Group 2: 1st. Honduras 2nd. El Salvador 3rd. T&T 4th. Haiti Group 3: 1st. USA 2nd. Costa Rica 3rd. Cuba 4th. Belize I see Martinique and T&T advancing as 3rd place teams. If this holds here are my predictions. Quarterfinals: USA vs. Martinique>> USA advances. Honduras vs Costa Rica>> Costa Rica advances. Panama vs T&T>> Panama advances Mexico vs El Salvador>> Mexico Advances Semis: USA vs Costa Rica>> USA advances Panama vs Mexico>> Mexico advances.. even tho the way Mex is playing right now I'm leaning towards Panama but we all know CONCAFAF wants USA-MEX final so somehow Mexico will get thru. Final: USA vs Mexico And your 2013 Gold Cup Champions is......... USA!! Call me Nostradamus!
TONIGHT: Panamá vs. Martinique @ 7:30 p.m. México vs. Canada @ 10 p.m. I'm guessing Mexico and Panama will win. What happened in 2005? Did CONCACAF NOT want Mexico that time?? I remember going to that game vs. Colombia. We sucked!
This game is also going to be on national television on FOX. I think Gus Johnson will announce USA's game.
I've never heard him call a Fútbol game, so I'm tuning in... also to watch the USA against someone better than the other team. Good luck, y'all. It's in the bag.
Doing what we should be doing against teams of this caliber. Not entirely pretty...but dominating at the same time. In the not so distant past, these games would have been much closer. If Wondo does this against Costa Rica and in the rest of the tournament, he's in for the remaining qualifiers. He's not going to start over Dempsey and/or Altidore. But he'll get time. He's one of those guys you always overlook. Not quick. Not particularly good with the ball on the move. Just scores goals. Played with a guy like that in high school. He was not good with the ball at his feet at all. Just knew how to score goals at a ridiculous pace. Great to have those guys around.
Gus Johnson can make any game interesting to watch, except soccer. It's painfully obvious he has no clue how to call a soccer match.
