Clearly?? No. They would've been able to score some more points, sure. But that Bama defense was elite. Too bad Texas forgot to recruit and develop a decent quarterback during and well after Colt's tenure. That's embarrassing...they own the entire state of Texas and couldn't field a decent passer. But that's in the past, and the 2012 Longhorns aren't nearly as good as their 2009 counterparts.
^^^Thank you. Not saying they wouldn't of won, just saying that the game would of been completely different. But we'll never know.
Texas would have destroyed Bama in that game.. Texas started that game with a pick from the Bama QB( if i remmeber correctly). And Colt had the chains moving so easily, before that fluky injury Texas had a backup bum QB who threw 5 picks, and still almost pulled the game out with a final drive to end it Texas was the better team, its shame Colt got injured. He needed that win for his career, i hated how he was always overlooked for the damn Heisman...
Colt was a paper QB. Anytime he got hit, he would leave the game. It was predictable that he would not last the entire game against a nasty Alabama defense.
and you still almost lost to a redshirt frosh.. who threw 5 picks Texas would have blown Bama out, no doubt in my mind That injury to Colt McCoy started the SEC hype train im glad we have a playoff now Bama looks good this year, but they really only beat Michigan( who is trash) I think FSU , Texas, hell even ND( if they had a QB) could give them a run for their money. Oregon has no shot.. they only recruit track guys, and dont have much muscle up front Bama is not known as a passing team, and Texas D eats up opposing running games
This is a pretty silly and inaccurate statement. He was a starting QB for 4 full years and missed a grand total of 0.5 games that entire time. He was also knocked out of the A&M game with 1 minute left on a pair of illegal hits. Both of those injuries were in his freshman year. That's about it as far as injuries go, and he missed no starts during his career. It was not remotely predictable that he'd get hurt, and certainly not on a pretty straightforward play like that. It was a fluke injury.
WOW cant tell if serious Colt Mccoy set multiple NCAA Records, and was the epitome of toughness, by his junior year.. he was running people over in the endzone. He just never got the respect.. because of the damn SEC Bias... Mark Ingram for Heisman. GTFOH
Haha, wait...I'm not taking a side in the Big 12 v SEC debate, mostly because I only watch ACC football (U & Duke fan), but you realize OSU ran for 250 against UT, right? Averaging about 7 yards per carry? That's literally the exact opposite of "eating up...running games."
OSU always plays Texas tough you do realize that the SEC has no QB'S dont you.. that makes their defenses look better than they are Its BS SEC Bias.. trust me
SEC hype train wasnt around like it is now the recent crop of SEC QB's suck Cam Newton, and Matthew Stafford are really all you have. The Big 12 is primed for more Weeden( regardles of what you think of him), Sam Bradford, RG3, Tanehill, etc... seems like not too many QB prospects in the SEC these days
Even if that were true (jury is out on Tannehill and RG3 and Bradford is a disappointment), you do realize there are 21 positions not called QB, right? Look at RB. The Texans have one of the better RB combos in the league. Foster and Tate both played in the SEC. Why you are focusing on one position to support your theory that the Big 12 is so awesome is just baffling.
oh and having a LOT of bad QB's will make any Defense look good why do you think Bama looked so good againist LSU, and personally scheduled Michigan this year... they destroy teams with bad QB's, and will embarass them Florida, and Bama would always struggle againist Bobby Petrino and his Arkansas teams. Florida was gifted a win in the swamp back in 2009 to keep Florida on track to play Bama in the SEC Championship game to put more hype on the game. SEC refs are crooks for Mike Silve as well Notice how Florida lost to a QB in Jevan Snead that one year... A BIG12 reject.. the proof is in the pudding Put a QB with a pulse who can actually throw the ball accurately on any team with a decent defense, and watch Bama crumble
Adrian Peterson> Arian Foster and Ben Tate combined im just talking as a Big 12 homer hear but SEC gets overhyped because of the confernce they play in their athletes are no different from the Big12 top to bottom, and i would even say from top to bottom the Big12 may have the edge you are counting teams like Ole Miss, Kentucky, Missouri, and Missisppi State.. up againist TCU, WVU, Kansas State, and Iowa State( who is very underrated) SEC is a 2 team confernce.. every other team in the confernce is overranked and overrated matchup the Big12 vs. the SEC best(top to bottom)... and i bet the Big12 comes out on top
Alabama-Michigan was scheduled before Denard Robinson ever set foot on the Michigan campus. Stop making things up. It's better to let people wonder if you don't know what you're talking about than to confirm it for everyone.
That's about 10 pages too late. At least he admitted he's nothing more than a homer though. That's a first step. He's still nothing more than unsupportable opinions and trolling though.
You really don't know what you're talking about do you? Petrino came to Arkansas in 2008. Since then 2008- Bama 49 Arkansas 14 2009- Bama 35 Arkansas 7 2010- Bama 24 Arkansas 20 2011- Bama 38 Arkansas 14 With the exception of 2010, All were blow outs.
