The AFC East rivalry between New England and New York is getting an added jolt as longtime Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis will join the Patriots, pending a physical.

Jets coach Rex Ryan addressed Ellis' departure Sunday.

"The fact that he chose them ... there's no way I'm going to wish him well," Ryan said Sunday. "There's no chance of that.

"I wish him to be healthy, but I don't want him to play that well. But he knows. I know the way he is too. He's going to be revved up, ready to go, and our guys will be too. So it will be fun going against him."

Rexy is barely a flavor of the month compared to Belicheck's accomplishments. Hell, Rex didn't even win a SB as a coordinator (he was just the DL coach for Marvin Lewis' Ravens defense)... Belicheck had 2 before he won another 3 as HC.

Is Derrick Mason the last active player remaining to play under the "Oilers" name?

Nevermind, Mason got drafted by the Tennessee Oilers.

The last active person on an NFL roster to wear a Houston Oilers uniform was All-Pro tackle Jon Runyan, who retired in 2009 to become a U.S. Representative.

Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, even Maurice Jones-Drew, move over. The biggest Twitter trash-talker might be New York Giants vice president of communications Pat Hanlon.

Hanlon was at it again Wednesday, calling out fans for questioning the Giants' offseason moves.

On the same night that wide receiver Steve Smith signed with the Eagles, an NFC East rival, a fan tweeted: "Can you say definitively the Giants are better than last year?"

Hanlon's reply: "Can you say we're worse, knucklehead?"

Another fan tweeted: "All teams need to rebuild at one point, I'm not going to panic until the season begins." To which Hanlon says: "Re-build my ass! I got your re-build."

To this tweet from a fan: "Giants off-season can be summed up w/ one word: Debacle," Hanlon responds: "Thanks Lombardi. Cause I know you know."

Another fan said the Giants are worse on paper than they were last year.

"We don't play on paper. You know what you can do w/ that paper?" Hanlon responded.

In the past, Hanlon has used Twitter to poke the New York Jets.

Back in May, Hanlon responded to coach Rex Ryan, who said the Jets would have beaten the Packers had they made it to the Super Bowl, by tweeting: "You gotta be in it to win it" and repeated a Giants motto: "Talk is cheap."

Taking a further jab at Ryan, he tweeted: "Tom Coughlin wrote a book, too. It was about a team and an HC that won a Super Bowl."

The comments prompted Ryan to seemingly joke to ESPNNewYork.com's Jane McManus: "My big thing is, I think I can whip Pat. I'm worried about him throwing a BlackBerry at me."

Despite some of the more inflammatory tweets Wednesday, Hanlon's basic point seemed to be that Giants fans shouldn't panic just because the team hasn't made a substantial splash in free agency.

"Typically, we try to make our noise in Jan-Feb," he tweeted, as well as, "You like winning? Sit tight."

You think so? Maybe your reasoning the loss of Smith and Boss will draw more attention to Nicks but I think he'll take advantage of having more passes thrown his way. I think Nicks is going to blow up and be a top tier WR. He had a very nice rookie year and proved he's legit last year and now he's coming into his 3rd year as the bonafide #1 receiver on that team and Manning's only good target in the redzone. I'm projecting 1200+ yards and 12+ TDs.

I would love love love if the Texans made a move for Ngata next offseason. Being tagged he'll make 12.5 million, but that's averaging all the ridiculous contracts offered to 4-3 DT's. The top nose tackle I think is Wilfork, who signed last year for 5 years 40 million.

Great football player... even better person. He has the talent to single handedly turn around a Defense.

    Indeed.

Like I said, I'm open to yardage bets.

    Or even receptions.

    I'm good with the over.

20 bucks to the charity of your choice if you win.

I'll donate my winnings to the charity Chad raised money for with all of those publicity stunts you guys seem to hate him so much for. (bull riding, "who covered me" list, etc)
