Are there any video of this Brazilian Bogus injury that gave us the extra time to tie and ultimately win?

It was heinous...she was walking around then went down when no one was looking (all caught on camera) then laid there writhing, got taken off on a stretcher, immediatly jumped up and came back in the game.

The Ref gave her a yellow card at that point.

I haven't been able to find it yet, but basically, the girl just lays down on the ground faking hurt, FIFA medics come out and carries her off on a stretcher, then literally 5 seconds after she's off the field she sits up, unbuckles herself from the stretcher and runs over to the sideline and comes back on the field.

Just saw it on the espn3.com replay. That is horrible. Just flop on the ground, get put on a stretcher, then when play resumes jump off the stretcher and sprint back onto the field.

    Quite lame Brazil. Karma's a b**** isn't it?

Gotta love all the boo's towards the Brazilians because of their sportmanship, and USA cheers. Awesome.

    114:15

If you are looking at the ESPN3 video, skip ahead to 2:52, and watch the left post following the corner kick.

I know Football has been around forever and all...but that is just pathetic and the men do it too.

I wish they could pause the timer when a player gets hurt. Just pause it while they are on the field since the players are not doing anything any ways but accusing said player that s/he is not really hurt. I don't see who it is hurting if they do this.

thats basically what they do... during stoppages like that the ref keeps track of the time and adds it on at the end of the half. i dont see anything wrong with keeping track of the time... players just should respect themselves, teammates, opponents, and the game more.

that's the common argument, but it's a facile one. first, there are other countries far smaller than the US that field world class teams. the US is ~4x the size of Germany in population, so if you took away all the football, baseball, and basketball players this country produces (or imports), there should still be plenty of world class athletes available to field a team as good as Germany.

2nd, the skills sets don't necessarily overlap. if you're 300 lbs, you're unlikely to make a good soccer player. there might be some potential players in the ranks of DBs and receivers, maybe a shortstop or two, or a few point guards, but few otherwise.

also, the mexican team that just beat the US didn't field a lot of potential nfl or nba prospects. no, it's coaching and development. the US women's game has it, the men's doesn't, yet.
