My roommate, who is from Michigan and a huge Red Wings fan, had a hard time moving after that last sequence. The rest of the house was going nuts while he just had this look on his face like he was sure they had scored. Great game and a great showcase for the NHL.
Yeah, Hossa was a millisecond short from evening that game up in what would have been one of the greatest goals and comebacks in playoff history. As a Pens fan, this feeling sucks bad at the same time i'm just happy to have been along for the ride. The Pens were clearly outmatched against a more experienced, sharper and just overall better team and they still managed to make things interesting. Totally agreed on this series and playoffs being a great showcase for the underrated NHL.
I'm already ready for the 08-09 season to start. I've always been an on the brink NHL fan, but these playoffs hooked me. I was going to be a Red Wings fan due to my good friend/roommate, but I feel like too much of a frontrunner, so I'm going to stay in Texas and, gulp, become a fan of a Dallas team.
