It will be held Friday and shown live on ESPN2. The number 1 seeds were annouced today: Brazil, Germany, England, Argentina, Mexico, Italy, France and Spain. The US were screwed, how the hell does Mexico get a #1 seed and we don't? I don't really believe either team deserves one, but it's BS that they got one over us, considering that we've dominated them over the last 5 years (right Swoly? ) and won the CONCACAF qualifying. Oh well, here's hoping we can get a decent draw, a decent draw and knock the Mexicans out again this year. Call me crazy, but I think that is a pretty great pot... no Latin or European threats to worry about for a while. It is BS that Mexico got a #1 seed but I'm not really worried seeing our pot.
Those are the teams that we won't be playing. They'll pick a team from Pot 1 (the seeds), Pot 2, Pot 3, and Pot 4 to form the groups on Friday, then we'll know who we will play.

I want us to play Mexico and England in the WC because we match up well with them and I love beating those two. I hope we avoid Germany and Italy.
I wouldn't mind playing Italy. They're notorious chokers when it comes to the World Cup. They play an ugly defensive game, get caught up in selfishness problems, and don't have much heart. I'd love to beat 'em and listen to 'em whine and cry after the match. Italy is probably the biggest bunch of babies on the international scene. The Romans would be disgusted...

I know why it happened, but considering the results between Mexico and the US over the last 5 years, there's no way they should consistently be ranked above us in the FIFA World Rankings. Just goes to show what a joke the rankings really are. Here's hoping we get to knock them out again in 2006.
You Mexico fans can say what you want. The US got screwed. Those rankings are pure crap. We won the confederation. We won the confederation's tournament (Gold Cup). We beat Mexico in the last WC. There is no logical excuse for the US to be rated lower than Mexico.
