Opening day is Wednesday. I'm getting excited. Now I know Houston does not have major league hockey but that does not mean there are not any hockey fans there.

I hate that it's on OLN. Hockey killed itself when it lost that ESPN deal. I don't have OLN, and I have an upgraded Dish Network package. There is no hockey for me to watch until Sat. afternoon games and the playoffs.

    That said...Go Oilers.

Hockey was not doing any better when it was on ESPN. Nobody was watching it.

    It's VS now! :)

Go Blues. If I do end up in Missouri in a few years, one of the things I'm looking forward to the most is having an actual hockey team to root for. I wish Alexander would hurry up and buy a team.

Don't you just hate having to root for a team called The Wild? That's right up there with Utah Jazz in the dumb pro sports team name department.

Since it's a hockey team, they should have called themselves The Minnesota Frozen Lakers...

but at leat people with basic cable/dish packages have ESPN. at least it gave us a venue to watch. at least it was a springboard to promote the NHL. OLN sucks.

i'm guessing the guys who own NHL teams would far prefer their teams being showcased on ESPN than OLN.

I guess "Outdoor Life Network" sounded too feminine, so they needed a new macho name for their channel. Unfortunately, "Vs" sounds like a cheap ESPN ripoff channel

GO LEAFS GO! But I don't know if I can live that long to see them win the Stanley Cup again. Still, it's a fun game to watch.

Let's go Avs! Just avoid finishing in the basement of possibly the hardest division in hockey.

Hockey is only fun in June.

    I don't have a team to root for :(

Maybe the Stars will suffice this year
