Atlanta would have zero interest in trading a starter in Bazemore for a player that they wouldn’t care to play (Ryno). Just because they both suck doesn’t mean the trade makes sense.
He wasn’t allowed to directly say anything to the public at the time. Nobody knows what conversation was actually had. CP3 was already talking to him, you know James had a discussion as well.
It makes sense if they would get some sweeteners because you know, they're in full tank and they don't need or care about him, they're looking to lose, he's not part of their future anyway, that's why he's vert available.
Atlanta isn’t trying to compete and they have young forwards they want to play. Anderson wouldn’t take up valuable minutes from their young core, they’d be able to tank without being blantant, and they’d reach the min salary floor. Add the future first to it and it’s a pretty legit move for Atlanta. I’ve seen multiple mention how dumb this trade offer is yet it’s 1 that makes a TON of sense for both teams. Doesn’t mean it’ll happen but it wouldn’t shock me.
We are looking for other terrible contracts to trade Anderson for. Bazemore(and Horford) were the Rockets primary targets 2 years ago before they had to settle on Gordon & Anderson. Bazemore is said to be available.
