1995 Drexler Trade Post Mortem: Rockets Lose Big!!

The rockets traded all their heart and hustle by trading Thorpe.

 

Well... if you are going to use this trade as an example, we did WIN one championship without Drexler after all and anything less than another trophy would have meant we declined. So if anything, it meant we didn't decline after this trade.

 

Very funny.

Nonetheless, this trade was a huge gamble. We were now full of talented guards, but did not have a decent power forward. We got one of the best players in history, but did it make sense if we were going to be a low seed and have to beat teams that had won 60 games in the regular season?

Best trade in Rockets history. I have a feeling that this Martin-Hill trade has a chance to actually turn out even better.
