Cameron Payne, I guess? Or maybe not. Let's say we let Bev go and bring in Llull. Prig's contract extends into next year, so that'd give us a PG rotation of Llull, Prigs, and Nick. Honestly, if we're able to bring in Llull then the best use of the 18th pick may be a draft-and-stash - or trade down and draft-and-stash (George Lucas, Luwawu , Vezenkov, etc).
Likely to be a lottery candidate. I like Dunn more, he is likely to be gone before the 18th pick too.
Time to get another Aaron Brooks that can defend and not some Eurostash combo guard that wants to stay a Real Madrid player for long
Tyus Jones would probably be available at that pick. I liked what I saw out of him in the few Duke games I watched.
I fully expect them to go best player available. That has always been the MO of this organization, and I don't see why that should change. Whoever they draft will not be expected to contribute immediately. Those saying PG.....remember that the Rockets have Beverley as a RFA, Nick Johnson under contract for another 2 years, and Sergio Llull is possibly coming over. There are many ways they can address PG other than drafting one.
You are a wise person. Do you think the 18th and the 32nd pick will be enough to move up in the draft? I have my doubts about that. If Jones puts up a strong showing against the Mavs, I believe he will be retained, if he struggles (as he might after coming off another injury), then I expect he will be packaged along with the 18th and possibly the 32nd as well, in order to get the BPA in the draft, or a better NBA player.
Take your pick: Cameron Payne 6-3 185 PG Murray St. Kevon Looney 6-9 220 SF/PF UCLA Myles Turner 6-11 243 PF/C Texas Frank Kaminsky 7-0 240 C Wisconsin Tyus Jones6-11 190 PG Duke Devin Booke 6-620 SG Kentucky Jerian Grant 6-5 205 PG Notre Dame Montrezl Harrell 6-8240 PF Louisville Delon Wright 6-5190 PG/SG Utah Buddy Hield 6-4 215 SG Oklahoma' Darell Martin 6-9 240 PF LSU Terry Rozier 6-2 190 PG Louisville Chris McCullough 6-10 220 PF Syracuse Christian Wood 6-11 220 PF UNLV Kris Dunn 6-3 205 PG Providence
Cameron Payne 6-3 185 PG Murray St.: No Kevon Looney 6-9 220 SF/PF UCLA: Will be gone by #18 Myles Turner 6-11 243 PF/C Texas: Will be gone by #18 Frank Kaminsky 7-0 240 C Wisconsin: Larry Bird will take him. Tyus Jones 5-11 190 PG Duke: Too physically limited. Devin Booke 6-620 SG Kentucky: Nothing special Jerian Grant 6-5 205 PG Notre Dame: Not a great athlete, but yes if there.. wont be. Montrezl Harrell 6-8240 PF Louisville: Nothing special to see here. Has too much of a Lorenzen Wright feel to him. Delon Wright 6-5190 PG/SG Utah: Haven't see enough of him to say. Buddy Hield 6-4 215 SG Oklahoma': Meh. Darell Martin 6-9 240 PF LSU: No thanks Terry Rozier 6-2 190 PG Louisville: Not an NBA player. Chris McCullough 6-10 220 PF Syracuse: Has a lot of potential, so maybe... then again Hakeem Warrick did too. Christian Wood 6-11 220 PF UNLV: Haven't see enough to say. Kris Dunn 6-3 205 PG Providence: I don't think he is there at 18, and he will need time because his decision making is bad and he is a turnover machine, but he has the size and physical ability to be a borderline all star.
Me too. Either traded with an asset for a better currently playing player, or to move way up into the lotto, or traded for a similarly protected future first plus a couple of high seconds or something like that. I suspect DM is truly targeting Lull, Gentile this offseason. That, plus free agent pursuits, and unless someone he REALLY likes is there, I anticipate a trade.
In the tourny, Jerian played his way into the lottery for sure. He's totally out of reach, unless we can trade up to get him.
