Correa’s post season numbers are very similar to his regular season numbers which is what you’d expect as sample sizes get larger.
It occurs to me they probably weren't expecting to pinch hit for him that next half inning.
One other thing I think I missed is they may have intended Urquidy to go longer than an inning, but he was removed for a pinch hitter.
I get you gotta win which is why I wasn't phrasing it as a criticism. I was more thinking Urquidy should still be a potential option for a Game 6...
Fair Enough. As long as the Astros are still considering Urquidy to be available to start a Game 6 or 7 assuming he feels OK, then it makes sense...
If I understand, you are saying use your best pitchers in the highest leverage spots. It's not that Dusty doesn't trust Urquidy in a Game 6...
The Astros won the game and Framber needed to be pulled, so this isn't a complaint about that. I don't understand using Urquidy for an inning...
I'm just repeating what I've read/heard about from GMs and front office teams (including former Astros employees like Kevin Goldstein) say when...
We're all probably superstitious to some level, but whether you attend the game or not does not actually affect anything. If you have the means...
Alvarez throw to third contributed too.
Correa with a slow transfer and can’t get the DP, Bregman muffs one, and then Alvarez with a bad decision to throw to third. Instead of going...
Bad defense prolongs the inning and then Framber just sh*ts the bed.
Bregman would have just struck out.
Game 3 the Astros were shut out and already losing when Garcia was taken out. In game 4, Greinke wasn’t pulled early. He was pinch hit for after...
Marwin better not be the first pinch hitter again. I know he can “hit” lefty, but Diaz, McCormick, Siri, and even Greinke are all better options...
Yeah, Odorrizi can pitch innings if you need a long arm tonight and really everyone in the pen should be available at this point (even Pressly),...
Fair enough. Really, some more guys just need to start hitting wherever they bat.
That would put three lefties in a row. I would have moved Yuli into third. He’s hitting better than Correa.
Brantley and Tucker are the only two hitting right now. Altuve and Yuli are just above .200. Everyone else is below .200. That’s after getting 8...
I don’t think the order is the real issue as much as several guys (including Correa) by just not hitting. Maybe start Diaz over Bregman at this...
