Im too young to remember the 60's, 70's and 80's of rocketball. So if you do remember or wanna research. Give your teams from each decade, and then which is the best all-decade team. ------------------ "Kenny, The Basketball scientist, Whoo Hoo." Charley B, on TNT
I'm not sure about this but the all 80's team might be the best because we had Moses, Hakeem, and Sampson. That's three great big men that would be hard to beat. ------------------
The All 70's was pretty stout: Calvin Murphy and Mike Newlin in the backcourt, Moses Malone, Rudy T, and Bobby Joe Reed up front. The All 80's team was probably better: Dream, Ralph Sampson, and Rodney Mccray up front, and Lew Lloyd and Robert Reed at the guards. How about an "all NBA head coach as Rockets"? Rudy, Paul Westphal, MAtt Goukas, PAt Riley. ------------------ [This message has been edited by silent j (edited January 04, 2001).]
Wow. I learn something new from this board every day. Goukas was a Rocket? Oh, and you're forgetting Mike Dunleavy. ------------------ "Christ, it's not as if Steve pissed on a guy!!!!!" -- cson makes a return to my quotable sig as he comments on how Steve Francis should not be T'd up for slapping the backboard on a dunk...speak loudly cson, you rock!
I knew there had to be a 5th guy for my team, I just didn't think of Dunleavy when I posted earlier. j ------------------

What? No Sleepy Floyd? ------------------ "Christ, it's not as if Steve pissed on a guy!!!!!" -- cson makes a return to my quotable sig as he comments on how Steve Francis should not be T'd up for slapping the backboard on a dunk...speak loudly cson, you rock!
How could I have forgot Sleepy...yeah he should be there. A lot of people beleived Sleepy should have been a 2 guard kind of like Steve now. So was he better in the 80's then John Lucas? Lucas was a better point but Sleepy was pretty good and did not have any drug problems to end his career. Does anyone remember what year Sleepy retired? 92 or 93? ------------------ [This message has been edited by crash5179 (edited January 05, 2001).]
Paul Westphal was never a Rocket. ------------------ [This message has been edited by bobrek (edited January 05, 2001).]
Don't forget Moses could also be on the all 80s team because he was with the rockets when they made it to the finals in 82. ------------------
They made the finals in the 80-81 season but you are right I need to go back and include him on the 80's team. He did win league MVP in 81-82 season as a Rocket. Of course he was traded the next year to Philly. ------------------
