PhD students can make as much as 30k per year, especially those in the sciences in prestigious programs (such as his). People call this guy a medical student, but that's not true. He's a graduate student and was funded by a highly competitive NIH grant. I'd venture to guess that he made at least 25k per year off of that. Usually his graduate mentor will cover the rest if needed to match what is their standard 4th year graduate student stipend for that particular program. Now, he's not making bank, but I'm positive he isn't in need of student loans like a medical student would be.
From what i have read it says his only source of income was about 20k he got from unemployment and many people thought that number was high..idk though its just terrible I heard a utsa former student or graduate died and thats where I'm going
Guy in Maine. The potential copycat. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/07/armed-maine-man-stopped-with-aurora-clippings.html
James Holmes Received $26K Grant From Bethesda-Based National Institutes of Health In other words...the taxpayers probably funded it.
SMH @ copycats. Now here is his official mugshot. Does he look any more crazier than his school id photo or is it other way around? IDK but the mugshot looks less crazier even with his carrot top hair. His eyes look vacant though.
Wait wait wait... So let's get this right. This guy went to the premier of a movie, meaning he hadn't seen it yet, and mimicked the violence in that film to kill people? So this movie that he had not seen yet was so violent that it caused him to kill people that were watching the PREMIER? Genius.
I have a hard time seeing the mugshot and the college id photo as the same person even. They showed a clip of him giving a speech on neuroscience or whatever he was talking about. He was just this nervous looking guy who obviously wasn't comfortable at the podium...but a lot of people aren't. The dude has to have gone through a mental change imo. He became another person toward the end...one who did things like screw up his grades, withdraw from school, dye his hair, and plan an ambush. I'm guessing there was a trigger in there prior to that which set him off. I would bet they are going to find an undiagnosed mental illness.
He was nervously smiling in the video and looked totally normal. Mental illnesses are just devastating. A friend and I were talking about this yesterday. Are there reports out there on his instructors giving a statement about him? I mean, could they have seen his behavior towards the end??
Maybe he's colorblind? Or he liked this version below? I dont know..but that's what they're saying he copied, not the newly released film.
