As playoffs loom, so does Fred Van Vleet

He looks pretty good, don’t know what you’re seeing.

Can confirm he is not coming back. He is still fighting the war for hezbollah.

No, he is slow/old, we lost to a 7th seeded team with him, I don't value FVV that much, he is a combo guard who protects the ball and provides little else, has no finishing at the rim at all, no creativity with the ball, just another older guy fading away.

He is a role player at best...which is why IMe loves him I guess.

The Rockets rested three games before the playoffs. That put them on ice, including Right Said Fred. FVV ain't all that (not that Stonedoka is aware) but at least with him there is some roster balance.

That said, I won't hold my breath for a Willis Reed.

If Fred was going to be something like what he was in last year's playoffs then obviously he would be a huge help. The problem is, the likelihood of that is slim to nonexistent coming off surgery and a year off the court.

FVV was good in 3 games, meh in 1 game, and putrid in three games in the playoffs. I don’t want any version of last year’s FVV on this team. He was a low turnover, low assist, terrible fg% bottom five pg last year. I don’t think we need a pg, but if we do, it certainly isn’t FVV.

It's true that he played poorly the first few games, especially games 1 and 2.

However, the last four games of the series he was absolutely on fire and averaged 24 and 5 on 56% / 66% shooting.

His overall average over the entire series was 19 and 4 on 43 % / 43% shooting.

On a team that badly needs floor spacing, anybody who could provide that kind of shooting would be a huge help to us in the playoffs. But as I said, I don't believe FVV will be able to come back and do that.

I would like to see him come back. He would help some.

But, mainly, I think it would be good to get him back to prove that he's no savior and the team has bigger problems. All of that before the offseason would be nice.

Rockets lost to the 7th seed last year cuz their leading scorer s**t the bed all but 1 game. FVV wasn't brought here to be their #1 scoring option.

One of the smallest guys in the NBA, wrong side of 30, clearly carrying extra weight, terrible shooting efficiency even when fully healthy, and returning to the court from injury in record time?

What the f*ck could go wrong?

If he could come out and defend the point of attack and hit the open 3 for 16 minutes a game, bring him on.

He needs to take DFS's minutes in the rotation. Anyone would be an upgrade to DFS.

This year’s playoffs is about our young guys growing up.

Conley is ancient at 38 and was totally ineffective this season.

No to Giannis. Not against trading Amen (or Sengun) but not for Giannis.

I do like the idea of Stone & Ime getting a look at Fred this season so they can adjust for next year and hopefully move on.

Sorry, He was awful in games 1 and 2, below average in game 3 17 pts 3 assists and 3 turnovers, really good in games 4,5,6 and bad in game 7. Our half court offense was 22nd in the league last year and is 23rd this year. Amen is averaging the same amount of assists and about half of a turnover more on about a 3rd of the initiation usage. Team turnovers are higher, because of Durant and Sengun, not Amen and Reed. Okogie is better at 3 pt shooting, fg%, and defense. The only thing FVV brings to the table is better defense than Reed who will be the one losing minutes if FVV comes back. FVV will do nothing other than slow the development of Reed and Amen, because of Ime’s dumbass.
