Maybe we should hail Satan for tomorrow. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, cannot fix Brown. Maybe Satan can!
If you can't catch up to 91, you aren't a viable professional baseball player. Not just a big leaguer, but any professional level really. Abreu might actually be done.
There was an AB a few games ago, bases loaded, 2-1 count, pitcher cannot find the plate (if there's ever a FB coming in the history of FBs, this is it)... he swung the most sad swing I've seen in a while....it was painful to watch, how slow the bat was on a 93mph meatball right down the middle
Abreu is older than his age. We overpaid, but I I think complaining about that is hindsight. Josh Hader was a crap move by our team. The Astros golden era was based on analytics. We should go back to that. It's getting hard to watch these guys.
Cal has his faults but I think he stays out the Big Decisions and lets Nick and Demeco make the calls. Not sure about the Astros, but I wish we go back to a Luhnow style setup where the smartest guys in the room actually make the decisions. Btw, how many "smart guys/gals" have we lost the past few years? I wonder if that impact is showing itself as well
Josh Hader is a complete disaster. Absolutely atrocious all season, and Espada continues to use him in the most puzzling of situations. Yeah Abreu sucks, but the offense as a whole is completely overrated. If Yordan isn’t superman, it’s a really pedestrian offense. Lots of hits and very few runs. Typical Astros egg after a good series win.
It is indeed hard to watch a team who has 6 of their top 8 starters on the DL, and the SP they have struggle to give you 4 IP. There's no excuse for the offensive offense here and there.
You would expect to have a closer to close games, which he’s also been **** at. you would expect to have a manager who knows how to use your closer, but we don’t have that either. STOP USING CLOSERS IN TIE GAMES AND WHEN YOU ARE TRAILING.
Abreu is now 1.5 weeks older than the last time I was mentioning this!!! He’s washed. Last year was his send-off (“I shouldn’t do this anymore, but I can still do it every now and then”). Ironically this is something the drinking buddies (RJ, Bidge, Baggy, Clemens) AND the nerd cave would agree on. Abreu is done. Joey will get his chance. Singleton should still be part-time (he’s a “never will be great, but still has physical tools”).
Can't keep leaving guys on base. Looks like we're getting JV back this weekend. Maybe that will spark the team
Abreu is your RH bench bat (for now? Do you just eat the salary?), Singleton is in the Mexican League, Belt or Loperfido are at 1B....I don't understand why Belt is not on this team already, at least he's a professional hitter (Abreu and Singleton are not), K's be damned
“Astros are fine. Abreu is about to hit 3 grand slams on this next pitch.” *swings and misses on an 88mph hanger* “He’s got a good read on this pitcher. He’s about to launch one 500 feet.” -Jeff Bagwell
