Astros 1B have an wRC+ of 87 (OPS .669) since the start of 2022. Astros CF have an wRC+ of 91 (OPS .681) since the start of 2022. Astros Mob over last offseason: We need an OF. Astros Mob over last offseason: We need a guy that can hit RHP that plays the OF. Not saying there weren't dissenters from the mob or that the Astros 1B didn't hit well in a small sample sizes in the postseason the past 2 years. I expect Abreu is going to have some hot stretches. I just am not expecting him to be 100% a vast majority of the time. I'll be happy if he does, but I would have rather had a better backup option than Singleton. I'd be fine if the Astros would play DIaz at 1B on his catching off days.
