The Favourite was the most original looking movie (in terms of cinematography) that I've seen in a while. Looking forward to this.
Didn't watch the trailer because the VIBE that was described never tickled me. I think mostly it was because I hated those Burton Batmans. GOOD LUCK
This movie reminded me of the first time I saw Clockwork Orange. You could tell that Yorgos was doing a homage to Kubrick with some of his camera work, and that film in particular. The womens liberation stuff is only a small part of the story (on the surface), but the allusions to Christianity/Buddhism and how cruel the world can be to rob the innocence of the inexperienced, so well done! This movie will be a film students thesis in the not too distant future. Absolutely stunning movie and one of the best I have seen of the last 15+ years. Instant classic.
I haven’t finished yet. Another 30 min or so left. What a weird movie. I think I like it. And not just because half the movie is Emma Stone banging .
Right? There’s another one that’s too much of a spoiler to share the actual quote. But when God (lol) tells his assistant what he did… like “well obviously I did X.” Died again.
Visually stunning. The Oscars for Production Design, Makeup & Hair & Costumes were slam dunks. Emma's Oscar for Best Actress, while no gimmie, was well-deserved. A stunning performance. It starts slow, but picks up quickly.
