Miami got him so irrelevant, but Amen is not ready to run show fulltime and someone like Rozier would be great complement in the backcourt with him regardelss of who one wants to designate as the PG, and then as his backup when Amen is the starter. I'm not expecting Tate and Holiday to be Rockets after the deadline, and Cam to get minutes behind Brooks.
Brogdon, Rozier...Brogdon is bigger and a better defender, but essentially the same player. I was thinking Rozier might be the discount Brogdon in which the Rockets could snag a late FRP from someone like Boston that is limited to getting a really cheap rotation player via trade. I don't know if the Rockets can swing a pick good enough for Portland with Tate, Holiday, 2024 BRK SRP, and 2024 GSW SRP....and Rozier took a better pick than even that could get probably. I really don't think the Rockets would trade a BKN FRP or Rockets FRP for Brogdon (or Rozier) so they can keep from getting the Stepien Rule involved in future trades.
How about this one: Wizards in: Je. Green, Tate, protected FRP Hou in: Gafford and Kispert Wizards get a RFP and usable players they can later trade. We get a solution at backup center and a sharpshooting forward who can help with our bench scoring. FVV / Green / Brooks / Smith / Sengun Amen / Cam / Kispert / Eason / Gafford
Amen is ready to be the PG 100% of the time FVV is not on the court. The last month has proved that. In January he’s averaging 15/10/5/3/1 on 55% TS per 36 (with only 2.5 turnovers) in his time on the court. Eye test-wise he’s rapidly getting more comfortable on the court, has brought down the rookie mistakes, does more creation for others than any non-Sengun player on the roster, and makes our switch-everything bench defense work. Our bench needs finishers — a wing who can actually shoot (i.e., not Tate), and a big who can play PnR at any functional level. Amen creates enough shots for others, the others just need to be threats to actually make them.

Tristan Thompson just got suspended 25 games for PEDs--with Mobley out for a couple months the Cavs might be desperate enough to trade for a center. Backup center market may have just gotten a lot more seller-friendly.
I can't imagine they are going to panic. Mobley has been out over five weeks on an six-to-eight week projected injury. He's already practicing.
Rockets need a player with championship experience... A Turkish league MVP and a 2017 champion, this changes things.... Scary hours..
Where's Morey when you need a deadline trade that blindsides you. He was the master of coming up with something no one saw coming.
Eye test shows the offense struggles with FVV off the court. What is the offensive rating over your split for the Rockets with Amen on the court?
Thanks for the clarification. I think Jalen is stunting us as well, but believe he would be doing better without FVV. I'm high on the 2024 pick, likely to be our highest pick until 2030, unless another Nets pick beats it. Again, shades of the Clippers trading Kyrie for peanuts. Lastly, I shouldn't have said it's the worst trade I've ever seen. I could have worded things more softly. There is too much negativity on this board and I need to do my part to have constructive conversations.
