Indy has already demonstrated they can beat all of the top teams in the East and were on a tear before Haliburton went down. Plus, Turner himself is 27 years old so their time is now, or at least the next few years. It would make no sense for a team like Charlotte to mortgage the future to get Lamelo a second star. They're so far away from competing. The situations of the two teams are different even though they both have their franchise players.
Would y’all be interested in LaVine for basically just filler contracts? We’d probably have to include a young guy like Green to make the salaries work.
He would definitely help Segun scoring wise. But idk how to feel about him personally. His defense is none existent maybe he’ll try harder here on defense who knows. What other options are there at this point?
It isn't realistic for the Rockets to take on a $40m contract during the season. The contracts of Jalen, Landale and Oladipo still come up short by ~$5m so you are also adding Tate or Boban. Chicago wouldn't have roster space to make such a trade possible, even as a multi team deal it would be exceeding difficult to move 4 contracts for 1 mid season.
I think the Bulls only have 14 players currently, so could absorb 1 extra player. FWIW a Green/ Oladipo/ Landale/ Tate for LaVine/ Drummond/ Taylor swap works (for salaries) Personally I don't like LaVine, just showing how a 3 for 4 swap works salary wise (I assume pick/s would be involved)
We need to go out and get Dejuante Murray! sengun/? Bari/Tari Dillon/Tari/Cam FVV/Cam Murray/FVV/Amen
That salary doesn't get it done. Lavine / Drummond / Taylor adds up to $45,443,926. Green / Tate / Oladipo / Landale adds up to $33,841,480. The have to be within 125% (plus 100k max) .... the amount heading out for the Rockets is $42,301,850 The Rockets would be short $3,142,076 outgoing salary .... These lopsided trades usually occur in the offseason when teams have 5 extra roster spots.
45,443,926 x 0.75 = 34,082,944 (for some reason the salaries match on Fanspo trade machine!) So the Bulls could just waive Terry to make an extra roster spot, and LaVine and Drummond match the 4 Rox salaries. Just saying it isn't impossible! (But I would hate to see if happen!!)
The problem is you used the wrong formula .... the x.75 is wrong, its /1.25. (45,443,926 /1.25 = 36,355,140.8) As for it being possible - sure, it CAN be done. It just isn't likely during the season. It's much easier to cobble together salary when you have 5 more roster spots to play with in the offseason - not to mention teams with cap space to help facilitate for an asset.
Jalen Green, Jock Landale to Raptors Victor Oladipo, Nets 2024 1st (top 9 protected Via HOU) Magic Bruce Brown, Wendell Carter, 2024 OKC 1st (Via TOR) to Rockets If the Nets pick doesn't convert, Magic gets the OKC 1st + 2 future HOU 2nds. Send Tate to a random 4th team for a waivable filler and a future 2nd Van-Vleet / Thompson / Holiday Brown / Whitmore / Bullock Brooks / Eason Smith / (Carter & Eason) / Green Sengun / Carter
{cough}KPJ's trade exception takes out Drummond and my rough math says Fanspo's trade machine is right as the Rockets squeek by{cough}
