KPJ joins a long list of other Rocket busts like Royce White, Bonzi Wells, Quitten, Melo, Cousins, and Ty Lawson to name just a few... There better not be a thread dedicated to saying goodbye to KPJ - if one does get created, it should be locked immediately.
My guess is they wanted to remove the distraction but still remain flexible to make moves with an expiring contract at some point this season.
Theoretically, this gives us matching salary to trade if we want to acquire a player. If Stone utilizes it this may not be another complete waste of picks. I don't really trust Stone to do that. I'm just glad this f**king POS is finally off the team.
I'm a little surprised the Rockets were able to get another team to take KPJ given the time crunch and PR problem, but this is the type of deal I expected the Rockets to make if they could find a partner (expiring or 2 year deal back with 10-18 per year on a contract, ability to play a plus but optional, SRPs only as draft compensation).
How much veteran leadership does a team need? I’d rather give the roster spot to one of the exhibit 9 players like Johnathan Williams or Days
