Rockets trying to get in the Astros "Houston vs. Everybody" thing? Who do the Rockets think is against them?
In my mind game 5 was the most pivotal win. It was there place, took the must win aspect off the table. That said thuse last 5 outs recorded by Ryan Pressly were the toughest outs of the entire season. McCormick made the great catch but Pressly earned every penny we are paying him from now till the list check clears. I get Pena MVP but Ryan P was nails entire playoffs and at the most butt-clinching moment in Philly. Merry Christmas World Champs
Valdez deserving, Bregman deserving, Pressly deserving, Pena deserving. Couldn’t really go wrong with any of those choices for MVP. Did they ever release a break-down of the voting? Have to imagine all of them got at least one, and Pena probably wins by 2-3 votes. Also, as far as those last 5 outs go… Mancini’s pick at first still probably saves the game moreso than the McCormick catch. Splitting hairs as to which one was more improbable (or in Mancini’s case, some luck involved), but its likely a tie game if Mancini doesn’t make that play… vs. a guy on 2nd with 1 out if McCormick doesn’t make that catch (Pressly then would have walked Harper, as he did with nobody on base, to set up the DP with Castellanos… and he did ended up grounding out to SS).
Pressly coming on in the 8th and immediately striking out Marsh on 3 pitches has to be the most underrated moment of the entire postseason.
That they chose to print that shirt in blue instead of red makes me against the person who was behind that decision.
Wanna talk luck, there being a man on first base was the only reason Mancini made that snag. He was so close to the foul line cuz he was holding the runner on base. Haha.
I find it ridiculous that THE BOMB gets lost in the MVP discussion. https://www.mlb.com/video/yordan-alvarez-homers-3-on-a-fly-ball-to-center-field-jose-altuve-scores
Where would you like his 1 clutch hit in a 6 game series to reside in terms of the MVP voting? As opposed to the 2 stellar outings by Framber or the consistency of Bregman or the most annoying player for the Phillies in the series, Mr. Pena? #PrisonerOfTheMoment
