If you didn't get to watch him live, you really missed out. Dude was poetry on the basketball court. Happy bday GOAT
Happy Birthday to our beloved Hakeem Olajuwon. The best Houston Rocket of all time. May he remain happy, successful and healthy in his life.
Defeating the legendary Kareem Abdul Jabbar was an enormous feat for a young upcoming professional such as Hakeem ( Akeem). Ralph and he really were the true twin towers.
They were incredible together. I've always thought that if Ralph had access to today's medical advances, he would likely have had a far different recovery from the fall he suffered in Boston, which led to his other injuries. Your point about Kareem is well taken. He may have been older, but still played at a very high level, and was surrounded by a fantastic collection of talent, not to mention a Hall of Fame coach in his prime. They weren't defending champions for nothing. The Rockets beating them in 5 games was an enormous upset.
Happy Birthday, the Dream, the Man, the Believer, the Bamboozler, the great Master of Shotblocking, DreamShake, Fadeaway, Footwork, Rebounding. Cannot believe it has been so many years. A great disciple of Allah.
Always have to bring this man's name up when I see casuals disregard his greatness when ranking NBA players. Always thankful he won us 2 championship
#7 on that video was the moment I knew we would win the championship. Happy Birthday Dream--and thanks.
