I love me some D-rock; but we don't always see eye to eye on players. Johan Bolden, Tyler Johnson, Josh Jackson I'm sure that goes both ways. Take Care
i mean I’m going Steph, Harden, AD in that order. Steph not great on defense but he tried and it could be covered (albeit with historically great players) … and I get it’s a Rockets board… but the Steph undervalue seems to remain. Two time MVP, one time unanimous. but whether it’s Steph, Harden or Harden, Steph I’m definitely going both them before AD. In the 1980s/1990s give me AD. But the game has changed… permanently.
but he’s not a traffic cone on defense. That’d be like me saying Mobley doesn’t like playing basketball. Also not true. Both are legit concerns though.
I'd prefer Mobley over Green, but Dream was my guy as a child and he won the first our only championships the year I turned 18. I am partial to big men, plus he seems like a good kid that wants to work hard. I'll be happy with green too. I am just pleased to have such a high pick not sure it's happened since Yao. The rockets big man legacy needs to be carried on might as well be wood and mobley
This may have been posted before, but ... this is video of Kenyon Martin Jr's Sierra Canyon team going against the Mobleys' Rancho Christian squad in high school. KJ was erasing dreams even then :
KJ looked like a little b**** with diva problems in high-school lmao. Hopefully the NBA work ethic rubs off on him.
Most interesting for me that the late 2nd rd pick in KJ looked way more dominant as a defender than the supposed "freak unicorn" defender people want to waste a 2nd overall pick on...
Good for them, in the video Mobley looked less impressive than a late 2nd round draft pick. What was the point you were trying to make again?
Barring injury, I'm taking AD. Harden close second. Steph needs 4 all stars to even sniff playoffs, this has been proven 2 straight seasons now.
Except Mobley is not injury prone and has great IQ and technique. If anything, Green may have more likelihood of injury considering how he often he lands on one foot or splayed out on the ground after dunks. Just because Mobley is underweight doesnt make him injury prone. How often did Durant get injured his first decade in NBA?
Green isn't undersized but if we're trying to build a championship squad, we'll need a center who can play defense and Wood isn't it. I'm torn because I'm seduced by Green's offensive game but deep down I know we'll end up like the Blazers if we field 2 guards that can't defend at an elite level. Mobley is a gamble too but if we win that gamble, we'll be closer to title contention with Mobley.
And if we don't win that gamble we will be closer to picking in the lottery again while seeing Cade and Green face each other in route to a title...
Yep, but I'm not going to say he will lead any team to the championship. Not seeing that kind of player in this draft honestly.
Honestly, when was the last time you did and who was it? I hope we pick Green, but I wont be mad if its Mobley. I think both players are excellent for a rebuilding team like Rockets.
