Are you going back to the Theaters now? Seems like some big movies are prospering and bringing it back If so . . .what movie will bring you back I hear A QUIET PLACE 2 is pretty good. Rocket River
I think I’m at pre pandemic level of theatre interest, which is to say I usually just watch 2 or 3 a year. I’d see Bond this weekend if it was coming out.
The problem as Emily Blunt put it is real. The Blockbusters can't afford to risk a big movie yet. That sort of surprises me. And If you can't afford to make the Edge of Tomorrow 2, on account you can't make your money back, then low budget movies will need to carry the weight for a while. TV Shows take years to make their money back. It might take some time for the fly wheels to start churning themselves again. Not sure. Would like to think we all just go back to normal, but may take some time or someone with big pockets to just go all in. All that said, now is the time when someone unexpected can and usually does take an open market. but it's a big assed risk to move all in right now. Yet history is littered with risk takers who earn their tycoon status at exactly these moments in time.
I couldn't stand going to theaters before the pandemic, so I really don't have any urgency to go now. Though I do need to fix my sub on my home theater system after the amp on it finally gave up the ghost after 15-16 years.
Went and saw A Quiet Place 2 this evening. Got self-conscious eating my popcorn in the silent theater.. that’s the movies fault Other than that, glad to be back at the cinema In regards to A Quiet Place Part 2- Good movie, but I enjoyed the first one better. Seemed as most horror sequels go, the monsters become less scary the more we see them. Still enjoyed it though and had some intense sequences. Not a bad start to returning to the movies.
im holding off on the movies. ive discovered so many good alternative platforms thanks to the lockdowns last year. also if you're in developing countries, the experience is much worse with everyone not knowing basic public etiquettes.
Took the wife to go see a romcom last week. I don't like movies, and I don't like the theater, and I really don't like romcoms, but I have to admit it felt great... like hitting a "back to normal" milestone or something.
I enjoy going to movies, I just don't do it all that much. I'm trying to remember the last movie I saw that I really said to myself: "damn, I'm glad I saw this in a theater". Fury Road is the one that sticks out.
A Quiet Place 2 is exactly the reason why I’m going back for the 1st time since the pandemic started since it won’t be streaming on HBO Max
can't wait to go back to the movies. We've rented out theaters a few times during the last year. I just love the big screen. I'll probably watch the next Marvel movie in the theater.
I've been going to the the theaters pre-vacc and post heavy-lockdown. Socially distanced, enforced masks, less people. Honestly the theater experience has NEVER been better.
