If Jordan was on the Rockets, I wonder if he would have been as famous as he is today. I have a theory that a large part of the reason Jordan is as famous as he is, is due to WGN. WGN for some reason was part of basic cable in every city. That sort of platform made certain people in Chicago were known as the greatest of all time just because they were in every American's living room. Greatest Basketball Player:Jordan. Greatest Baseball Announcer:Harry Caray. Greatest Talk Show: Oprah Greatest Clown: Bozo.
You overestimate basic cables' reach in the 80's/early 90's. Also, not all Bulls games were on WGN. By the time sports leagues really started to showcase games on cable, Jordan was already the pre-eminent force in all of sports. Magic and Larry were also able to capture the national spotlight before Jordan... without the help of a superstation.
Who would be the alpha on that team? Dream wouldn't take **** from anyone. I imagine we'd trade Clyde for some scratch lotto picks after he beat Jordan in pick up once and MJ would up the stakes and mental games.
double alpha in MJ and Dream. Clyde could probably help us get a prime Barkely or Pippen in return. and we'd still be scary af.
Nba wouldn’t be as big as if we’re today if he played in Houston in the 90s. Houston wasn’t as big (meaning populous) city as it was today in the 90s. And it was more of a small big town.
I mean it's obvious in just watching them that Jordan was far more talented. He didn't need to look down to dribble the ball.
I've always wondered why we had this Chicago area station every place in America I have ever been to...
The no trade shows what we had with Sampson. Before the injury Sampson was better than both Jordan and Clyde early in their careers.
