I believe Morey's primary targets are Harkless and MKG. Bolden may not even be on his radar unfortunately, even though I have seen/posted articles stating he would be a good fit.
It could mean A) they are keeping it close to the vest on guys they want who have been bought out B) they truly aren't looking to add anyone who is currently available or C) they are looking at international players.
as a total we might out score them by 2, but what i mean is, teams are scoring way too much against us in the paint. I'd like to see it where we out score them by 10+ by stopping them from scoring
I would too, but it is a double edged sword. Our post scoring will go down with a traditional 5. It is all a balancing act. If you go back to 2017 we began winning games we did not in 2016.... in 2016 we lost games where we shot poorly from 3...... everyone said the team would struggle to get past mid 50's wins....... then in 2017 it stopped mattering if we shot poorly. The improved defense was a big part of it........ but if you dive deeper, we were suddenly and consistently when the possession game. We did not win every single possession statistic, but we did typically win the same ones against everyone.... we were getting extra possessions and more free points. Last year we lost some of those, and rebounding became an issue. This year, we started winning most of the easy basket and possession wars when healthy......... however we have stopped winning the free throw battle. That was one of our biggest strengths and not so much anymore.
I agree with you. I didn't say it because it sounds like a conspiracy but I noticed a stark change in how we were officiated after that game. I also am curious to see if there will be a price to be paid with the Rockets being so open in discussing the lack of importance of the center position. The league is clearly watching the Rockets closely, as can be seen in the amount of the TE we got at the deadline. The organization needs to talk less about what it will do and why in certain cases.
B) they truly aren't looking to add anyone who is currently available Or, if translated, they are waiting for others to be bought out. The deadline to buy them out is March 1. The Rockets can sign any player prior to the end of the regular season for playoff eligibility. There is a 0 percent chance that the Rockets leave those roster spots open. No benefit as the luxury tax has been defeated for this season and Tilman can rest easy.
Should have taken advantage of opportunities to add quality players before the deadline. Relying on buyouts is dicey.
