Does that have anything to do with the absolute fact that these media companies are biased or attempt to put their weight on the scales of American politics ? Both left and right leaning.
I'm not sure why that's funny. NPR always presents detailed presentation from the various sides of an issue. The only problem is that NPR usually finds one corner of a story and does an indepth piece on it. They don't generally address the bigger broader issues. But their coverage is far from overly biased.
That was my point. Watching a certain amount of that is ok. But spending too much of your life on that is a waste. They are all bought by companies which in turn are buying our government. I think it’s better spent finding news sources that are propped up by actual listeners or consumers. Older people can not get out of the mind frame that cable news is mostly trash. And ignore a lot of the problems that are actually important, just like the politicians do.
In case anyone was wondering what the president was busy doing today, since his two week golf holiday is believed to be over... he called into the rush limbaugh radio show And then during the commercial break...
I listen to a lot of NPR and I try to be open minded. What I have noticed is the following..... I have never caught NPR in a flat out lie. I have caught NPR journalists be hard on both parties, but harder on conservative guests if they are not moderate. I have caught NPR only discuss part of an issue. FWIW I don't think it is intentional as much as it is that their individual opinions seep into the discourse even when they try not to. Fox News and MSNBC don't even try to be truthful or objective. Both will on occasion have some one take a strong stand against the party they support, but it never goes farther than that. CNN has become more biased over the years. It clearly leans left, although I haven't seen as many flat out lies as MSNBC or Fox. Mostly CNN tries to frame the opinions of it's watchers by framing the issue in the terms that support democrats. Al Jazeera and the BBC are worth watching sometimes because they do not frame the issue as D versus R. However they have their own bias based on their reporters as well but they allow equal discussion.
What a stupid thing to say. But the whole mindset that the cultural sites are only important to Iranian culture. It is also ignorant to believe that American cultural sites are only important to American culture
