Set expectation low, and every win is a great one. Not much to criticize aside from the last drive where BoB went safe mode instead of going in for the kill. Failed challenges? debatable, i thought they were solid attempts which would have made our win a little bit easier.
There were plenty of wtf coaching moments for the other team and they have the best coach ever. So relax
I don’t have an issue with making the Patriots burn their three timeouts when you have a 15-point lead and only 2:44 left in regulation. That’s the smart play. My bigger problem is going into a shell on defense and allowing the Patriots to gain 56 yards on two plays with 1:21 remaining in the game. It took the Patriots 1:15 to gain the first 38 yards of that drive, but then the Texans allowed an easy James White 36-yard completion on the very next play. That cannot happen.
Yes, you can. The Bills’ Micah Hyde returned an onside kick for a touchdown earlier this season. Edit: Only a player from the defense can return an onside kick, the kicking team cannot advance the football after a recovery.
I don't get why it appeals to many coaches around the league, the prevent. It needs to go away. after recovering the first onside kick, they needed to run their regular offense. Deshaun was on fire..from downtown. . I don't like his air guitar it needs more headbop. So Many great things from this game. Brady is old but what was the excuse for that all time great defense. Martin was disrupting and the defense kept knocking Brady down. Clark wasn't a liability. We've been able to offensively handle all the "contenders" we've faced except the Air forceacademy and their triple option. =/
The linebackers dressing up like Jagged Edge could have really backfired like the infamous Letterman Jacket game. Glad it didn't.
Agreed. Other than the final defensive possession, this was a very impressive game in all phases by the Texans. Best win of the season, so far.
OH GIVE IT UP....LOL. YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO CRITICIZE O'BRIEN ABOUT. It is KILLING YOU......lol.
3 and out after the Pats kick you the ball is exactly what they knew would happen and it did but I agree no excuse for that lay down defense.
New England has a good defense, but they are far from being an all-time, great defense. They have greatly benefitted from playing a weak schedule of quarterbacks, so far. They’ve played five above average quarterbacks this season (Jackson, Watson, Wentz, Roethlisberger and Prescott) and are 3-2 in those games. The game against Prescott was played in horrendous weather conditions, too.
You can return it if you are the non-kicking team. You can't recover your own onside kick and advance it.
You have to make the Patriots burn all of their timeouts when you have a 15-point lead and less than four minutes remaining in the game. I will agree with you that the Texans’ coaching staff should have enough trust in Deshaun Watson by now to call passing plays with the understanding he will only throw the ball if a teammate is wide open. If it was only a one-score game, I definitely agree with being aggressive on offense. You have to assume Brady will drive the Patriots down and score if you fail to get the necessary first downs. That said, the Texans’ defense should have been able to make the Patriots burn the remaining 2:44 on the clock with no timeouts remaining besides the the two-minute warning. But, the way to do that is not by playing 15-20 yards off the line of scrimmage. The Patriots’ receivers and backs love it when teams don’t play physical with them at the line of scrimmage.
