Agree. Is he eligible to play for the Vipers? Is there a service time limit for D-League eligibility?
Here's another brick in the road to luxury tax savings. Since I guess the Clips hold his D-League rights, so long Mr. Bennett. I'd have liked to have seen what he could have done here.
Mike dantoni ain't got time for far"weed" and his shenanigans which is the reason he ain't get signed! If they wanted far"weed" he would have been signed and perhaps the money Eric Gordon Got could have been sent far"weed" 's way but Eric Gordon money went straight into Eric Gordon's pocket and far"weed" was sent packing! Tell far"weed" to comb his hair!
fwiw: D-League players who do not have NBA contracts are considered free agents by the NBA, and can sign with any NBA team regardless of what D-League team they are on. Last year, Memphis signed Bruno Caboclo away from the Vipers.
The nice thing about Bennett is that he can do two things, 1. ROLL FOR DUNKS or 2. POP FOR THREES. Right now, we don't have one guy on the roster capable of both those things to really throw off the defense. Ryno and Clint are great, but predictable for the help. Bennett would be a massive wildcard because you would have to defend him honestly. Bummed he wasn't able to show his new skills.
The Rockets can't lose his Anthony Bennett talent. A 3 point shooting Center, can dribble, has post moves, shot block, can switch in the paint. At least put him on the Injured list, rehab him, try him out.
a lot of people can’t help themselves from overhyping scrubs...it’s always the same “if he can just do things X, Y, and Z that he’s never been able to do then he can contribute”
Fact check: he was off the bench in Dleague last year. Chances he is relevant at NBA level are slim!! Sure, intruiging skill set, but unlikely anybody else signs him up whilr injured to sit on their bench. Let him rehab, then give him a 10 day? So much fuss over a proven bust!!
The only person I did not see the hype applied to was MCW. Everyone knew he was a scrub even though he was wearing Rocket red.
