This guy is a joy to watch. Not sure how his play style will allow him to be around a long time. He is potential for injury on every play is uncanny. Its part of his game but not sure how its sustainable. Theres just no way. His window is win now not next year. Imagine a team with this guy and decent defense and coaching.
Man, every Texans thread is like a broken record, LOL.... Just saw something that said Watson, over the last 3 seasons, has the 3rd highest QBR in the final 2 minutes of the game in the entire league. Brees 98.1 (probably helped by last night's game.....) Brady 93.2 Watson 92.3 Uh....that's some pretty damn good company....
Before you know it, Watson’s big contract is going to be due and he’s going to have even less around him.
He is a lot better this season than last season he’s progressing threw his reads quick he’s knowing we’re to go with ball pre snap by reading the coverage. The kid is the real deal and imo him and Mahomes are the brightest two young QBs to come around since Aaron Rodgers. I love Russell Wilson and he’s an absolute stud and prob a HOF player when it’s all said and done but Mahomes and Watson have that it factor their is just something about them. The plays they can make with their arm is very Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees like. Really happy with the progress he’s shown so far and in this first game. By far imo the best game he’s played even though he’s had better statistical games. He also had the mind and arm to play exclusively in the pocket which guys like Cam newton can’t so he should be able to play for a very very long time as long as the Texans don’t kill him with the poor pass protection. Although 2 of those sacks were him getting shoe string tackled trying to run the ball himself. I do think the protection was better than last year and it should get better as the season goes on. Tunsil was solid in his first game here he’ll get better he looks like a future pro bowl LT for the next 10 years. Very athletic and moves his feet really well. Worried about the Texans secondary is really bad but we’ll see if they can get better.
That’s a very impressive list of names on that stat. With that said it freaking sucks that this young stud can’t have his D get him these wins when he’s giving them the lead with barley anytime left in the game and they still can’t get one damn stop to win it for him. But I’m torn it’s not something I want Watson to be remembered for but it also shows he’s a big game player and performs well in clutch situations and everyone on that list has multiple Super Bowls so if Watson can end up winning a few Super Bowls I don’t mind. But I do think Watson is a super bowl QB he’s git the goods he’s got the arm talent and he’s got the clutch gene. Texans have gotten 5 things right in their tenure. Andre Johnson Arian Foster JJ Watt Deandre Hopkins Deshaun Watson And Watson is the most important of all those great players. Watson can go down as the greatest athlete in houston sports history if he can win 2 Super Bowles. It’s Football and that’s king in Texas.
Deshaun Watson may be my favorite football player of all time after this: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/deshau...ht-young-fan-after-texans-loss-033215059.html
Does Cal McNair realize that the coaching staff's incompetence is causing little girls to cry on a weekly basis? Sad that Watson who did everything he could has to go and cheer the girl up. You know what would cheer that little girl up? Getting rid of BoB and the coaching staff.
What the hell? They made him look like an old testament Pharaoh with those eyebrows, them the bad guys yo. Pic they should have used: from some unknown painter in the 1800s
Half of the sacks are him, he holds it too long, looking for the big play, and he doesn't take the hot read often enough...as well as locking in on Hopkins. DD
