From 29:00 - 38:30 Credit to @whathappened for posting this, really good arguments about Harden vs. Giannis and the whole MVP voting. Arenas spitting the truth about narrative, how Giannis didn't really improve but his team did, Harden improved incredibly etc. Lou Will cussing is funny and he's on the same page.
Nice. Even before they talk about Harden I like how Arenas talked about that creating fouls isn’t flopping but a skill.
It's nice to hear players giving Harden some support with all the negativity he's had to endure of late. Really cool. But I don't think Arenas is being fair to the leap Giannis made this year. Can't just look at per game numbers, particularly when much of the value he brings is on the defense end. And it's not like Giannis's numbers are sub-par for MVP.
Crazy that Lou and Gilbert, two players that were generally considered not exactly that smart, are actually smarter than most of the analysts...or maybe they're just not crooked. Seems like James is about to get another players MVP.
Love the honesty. A blatantly biased media should not control the mvp voting. Harden should have won in a landslide. I’m glad they brought that to light.
People like Michelle Beadle, for example, should not even be allowed to see what an NBA MVP / MIP / Sixth Man etcetera ballot looks like. It's all narrative. Kawhi would have won a season ago if he'd been healthy, with Harden always the runner-up.
It encapsulates how the media doesn't get it HE said . . . improving by 6 points is HARD then Lou says . . On Top of 30! Rocket River
It’s funny cuz they make all the same arguments as us Rockets fans. Giannis barely improved stats wise. He plays in the East. And it’s good know that players fear Harden. Can’t sleep when he comes to town.
Thank you for summarizing and tagging the relevant chunk of video. Can't watch now. Will watch later because of that and will reserve proper comment until I've watched it. And I will keep thanking posters that do the same instead of just posting videos sans context and expecting people to watch them. Hopefully, it will catch on.
It cuts through the salt when you hear Harden's contemporaries give him his respect. This is why Rockets fans and Rockets social media whine so much about this stuff. The media are the gate keepers for sports history and legacy; they know the power they wield. For the media to play favorites with this important stuff it makes you sad... and whiny.
