Maybe not as bad as Hayward, but in the same ballpark. It was gruesome enough that he might not even play next season.
I pray it was a good break...good news it wasn't his ankle. I suspect some Screws in his leg. I'm optimistic
This is the worst part of the game. I like Nurk...one of the few true bigs left in the league, and he’s having a great year. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Portland is done. Another first round exit. They are not the same team without Nurk.
You'll have teams in the 5-8 seeds jockeying for positioning to play Portland in Round 1. They just became an easier opponent than Denver.
in a way it's better than ligament damage. They will probably put a rod in his leg and he should be fine in a year
Ernie Johnson - Who is your pick to win a Championship? Charles Barkley - I pick the Portland Trailblazers. Kenny Smith - Yeah I pick them too
Hoping for the best for Nurkic. I’m not going to blame the official for not seeing what happened, the incident happened so fast and his positioning indicates he was responsible for watching other players besides Nurkic. He wasn’t “not watching the play” on purpose. Either way you know everyone is upset about what occurred. Getting upset towards a ref doing his job isn’t right.
Obviously the injury is the worst thing to watch... but a close second to me is the players reactions to these kinds of injury. You can tell if the player saw it, it looks like they just saw a ghost. It’s a scary thing to see.
It really looks like Sam Bowie broken leg injury, same way. Top Player Injury History Bill Waton Sam Bowie Greg Oden Jusuf Nurkic Brandon Roy Lamarcus Aldridge is the only player that has healthy legs. Still going.
Feel awful for Nurkic and Portland, but feel bad for the Nets as well. Second time those players have seen a gruesome injury this season (LeVert). I can’t imagine having to see something like that twice in a single season.
I can’t believe this. So sorry for him. At the end of the day it’s a sport and nobody should get injured and I honestly wish we never pray for another players injury; as we all have one life, we all have friends, we all have family, and some of us might even have kids. Get well soon, brother.
Danny Manning, Jay Williams, TJ Ford, Maurice Stokes, probably a few dozen old-timers we never really hear about. Oh yeah, couple of guys named Ralph and Yao.
Wondering if any of the sports shows tomorrow are going to mention the Ref kicking Nurk's leg and walking over him like it was nothing.
Not sure if related but last year he had a stress fracture on the other leg. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ers-right-leg-fibular-fracture-miss-two-weeks
