Meh, Diallo's got some mad hops so props to him, but this was a pretty cringey slam dunk contest as a whole. I think next year, maybe a rule forbidding jumping over people anymore. Or silly props. And maybe get the judges some slow-mo. Or let them save their scores until the end of a round. When everything's a 50, nothing means anything.
Man.. that slamdunk contest was unexciting.. The announcers/commentators were doing their best to make the slam dunk contest interesting.
Dafaq did I just watched. Lol holly **** just when you thought it cant get any worst, nope this year worse than last year.
Diallo with his vertical should have done something a lot more special. It was alright. Not sure why the judges wanted Smith to win so bad.
Yeah I hope they can cut down on props and jumping over people in the future. Somebody’s going to get hurt. John Collins almost blew it tripping over that wooden airplane. That was pretty silly and almost disastrous.
> Little dude > Represents NY > Has a reputation for being a great leaper / jumper > People actually know who he is, vs some dude named Hamidou
They should have defenders actively trying to block these dunks. That would be much more exciting than dunking over a 5’ 10” rapper or a tiny wooden airplane.
That idea is bad for both parties, though. Dunker might get hurt and/or land awkwardly. Person dunked on will end up getting posterized and embarassed.
Here are some better dunks than what we saw tonight. Just to bring back those feels of what a slam dunk contest actually can be. --- https://www.si.com/nba/2019/02/16/b...st-shots-all-time-michael-jordan-vince-carter ---
I’d like to see more bigger guys do some real power dunks. Guys like Wilkins, Kemp, and Kersey really brought that sudden ‘pop’ to the dunks.
The guy that won had a couple cool ones. Everyone else was garbage I'd love to see even a couple players I've heard of in this event
