Robinson could/should just be a placeholder, get things squared away and turn it over to the youngbloods?
Some conflicting information out there. Some reports have it phrased this way, while others just say that Littrell will be targeted. If it's the former, it's impressive that K-State was able to keep all of that so quiet and Littrell is a pretty good get.
Seems like it's going to be a moot point, anyway. Saw something today where Robinson is no longer being considered for the DC job due to backlash from the initial news leak.
Ya that was the only opening at the time so makes sense. Guessing the Rams/McVay model will be the next big fad.
Health concerns are being cited again but who knows. The goose egg vs. Clemson, back to back playoff misses due to inexplicable blowouts by Iowa and Purdue, and the whole Zach Smith debacle were just probably just building up too high for both sides.
I had someone that is a prominent booster at Ohio State tell me 6 weeks ago that Meyer was not coming back and that the health issues are quite real. He was telling me about Urban needing brain surgery a few years ago and he is having horrible headaches and problems concentrating and focusing. He was very adamant that no one wanted to push Meyer out and that they believe he could come back down the line if he has successful treatment. I'm not a fan of Urban Meyer the person, but take it for what it is worth.
Mike Locksley is the new head coach at Maryland, and that's going to be an interesting one to watch. It could go really well or it could be a disaster. On the positive side of the ledger, his resume as an assistant coach is top-notch. He's had three different stops with Maryland before, he spent time with SEC powers Florida and Alabama, and he was a key piece of the coaching staff as Ron Zook led Illinois to its only real success of the last 15 years, which might be the most impressive line item of all. There also might not be a better recruiter of D.C.-area talent working in college football, and obviously, that's going to be important for any head coach there. On the negative side, he's been a head coach before (at New Mexico) and it did not go well, to say the least. He went 2-26 in two-plus years at the helm, with seasons of 1-11, 1-11, and then 0-4 before he was let go. Coaches are by no means finished products in their first go-round as head coaches, they can certainly learn from experience and improve as they get other chances, and New Mexico is a tough job, but a record that poor is a tough sell.
Totally agree. He's going to be recruiting the same types of players to KSU, when they're going well, KSU plays a similar style of football to what we've seen from NDSU, and he comes with plenty of head coaching experience. Certain subsets of the KSU fanbase seem to be upset with the hire, but I think that has more to do with them being frustrated that the administration was reportedly trying to push staff members on a new head coach (in this case, Seth Littrell) and less to do with any criticism of Klieman.

I can't believe another coaching carousel cycle has come and gone and Neal Brown is still the head coach at Troy. With a win in their bowl game, that would be three consecutive seasons with ten-plus wins. He might have gotten hosed out of a chance at the Louisville gig, as there is reporting out there that suggests that part of the reason he wasn't considered is because some involved in the search didn't care for how closely tied he was UK in the past (he coached there under Mike Stoops and played there until later transferring to UMass), or something along those lines. Who knows if he would have gotten that job in any event, but that seems like a strange reason to not even consider him. Some of it is also circumstantial. Even though he's a UMass grad and he coached in the northeast for a few years, he's worked in the south for most of his career, and there just weren't that many jobs open in the south that would have been a step up for him.
He was very much in the mix for the K-State job. Louisville deserves all the bad things that will ever happen to them, good for him not going there. Some mid-level state school is going to hire him away from Troy next year if not sooner.
