Question. How do I get Beto O’Rourke’s campaign people to stop f******* texting me about whether or not I have his vote? And how the hell did my number get to them in the first place?!
They will not leave me alone either. I sincerely hope legislation is passed to stop harassment like this.
I have told them that every single time and still get the dang text messages always from different numbers.
Because they're paid (or even worse, not paid, just volunteering) to complain about Beto on the internet?
With the newest polls in, Cruz has pushed his lead to 6.6 points in the RCP average, looks like my prediction of Cruz being up nearly double digits by the time the election comes around is playing out.
I'm voting Beto but I also agree the texts are annoying. Even if I can unsubscribe, that sort of communication should be an opt-in function instead of an opt-out.
It would be one thing if people signed up or expressed interest but if random voters are getting SPAM texts, I would think it's counter-productive in a big way. But I'm old and hate texts in general... especially group texts... big I digress... from my lawn.
Probably not counter productive. I doubt people decide how they’ll vote based on spam texting. Beto supporters will tolerate it recognizing it helps their guy. Cruz supporters will get belligerent but they were voting Cruz anyway. Undecideds... well I can’t understand how they still exist.
In fairness that's pretty much what Lindsey Graham did to Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, they went low, he kicked them for it.
Cruz is more likable than Beto in that poll. +8 favorability for Cruz and -2 for Beto. How can you more less likable than cruz?
Of course. Polls have to become more accurate as the election draws nearer or they lose credibility. They have to start only counting people who intend to vote instead of registered voters and not over-sample one specific party as much as they do in the early stages when the are trying to sway opinion rather than gauge it.
Well in a few weeks we will see who is more "likeable". I bet Cruz will prove to be much more "likeable". I am betting the actual results look much closer to the polls we are currently seeing than the ones showing Beto very close or even ahead over the last few weeks/months. The polls have to become more accurate to maintain credibility. The proof will come November 6 when Cruz wins with or close to a double digit percentage.
