I'd say Lebron and Kawhi are in a different realm than Melo and Westbrook. not much of a comparison there. Oh and lets not act like people are lining up to live in okc
But....the Nuggets draft pick won't be great either. They barely missed the playoffs and get Milsap back.
I would REALLY like to be a fly on the wall of the Spurs front office today. Can't imagine the number of calls they are getting...not just from the Lakers, but from other teams in the west doing their best to sabotage any Kawhi to Lakers deal.
I guess. I think ES is a pretty good coach. And I just feel like even if that's the case, wouldn't you wanna have a real coach at some point?
If the Lakers do something like the Denver deal, can we finally bury the notion of Kawhi, LeBron, and another max slot (i.e. PG)? Assuming they take Faried, Chandler, or Arthur, that'll be over $25M in "bad" money when coupled with Deng. If it's one of the first two, over $30M! And as far as potentially offloading one or more of those salaries at a later date, most of the sweetener for such a move (i.e. future picks) would likely be off the table due to the Kawhi trade, as well as the Stepien rule. Even waiving and stretching both isn't going to get you in PG territory when you're talking about close to $30M in aggregate.
LOL, we'll see. I still think that their ceiling is one or maybe 2 wins in whatever round they play the Warriors or Rockets. I'd be honestly shocked to see them even force a game 7 against either team at any point.
Windhorst has been saying all along that Houston is an unrealistic option. He changes his tune a bit here.
The discussion is the Lakers taking one of Denver's bad contracts, not the other way around. The Lakers would lower Denver's luxury tax concerns by taking Faried, Arthur, or Chandler, and LA would get a future 1st from Denver for doing so.
Would actually be funny if they end up with Leonard and George but Lebron comes here after all the rumors pointed to Lebron in L.A...turns out it was all made up and the Lakers were desperate to get Kawhi just to be able to sign George. I mean, i guess i wouldn't be shocked by that either.
I just don’t think that’s how Lebron rolls. Part of me wonders if Lebron wanted Spoelstra gone and Riley said no, thus “I’m Coming Home”. LA is tailor made for Lebron right now. An ownership he can boss around and a coach he can control in the biggest media market outside of NYC. The only issue? The winning.
