[Adrian Wojnarowski] Kawhi does not want the pressures of being the main star and getting the attention that main stars get Starts at 2:30
They would be idiots to not do that trade if Kawhi agreed to sign the extension. Kawhi and booker would be damn good if they could also get Capela.
Skip Bayless was right?! One day he wants the spotlight, the next day he doesn't. Kinda in a way reminds me of Dwight. Orlando wasn't good enough. He wanted something more, something bigger. Then he got to LA, battling injury(ies), Kobe, local media, fans on his ass 247. Nah, maybe this isn't what I wanted.
So why not just sign the Supermax and play with the Spurs? Doesn't make sense to not want the spotlight and play in NY or LA. I'm starting to doubt these articles or "thoughts around the league". They are just too inaccurate and then there are opinion pieces that the sheep read as bible. Y'all just stressing out over nothing. Fans of Lakers, etc getting all hyped. Rockets fans getting all up in arms over a report of Ariza wanting 50 million+? Please. I'll believe it when I see it.
I don't think he trusts the Spurs & the medical staff there. And I'm certainnotforcertain his Uncle Dennis wants him out of San Antonio.
it's always annoying when you're trying to get a big contract next season and your team is like "hey, could you maybe play basketball this season."
Kawhi going to LA would bring that pressure though. If Kawhi wants to be on a "good team" without that baggage, then Boston or Philly would be excellent landing spots.
Personally, as an NBA fan, I hope Kawhi goes to Philly. That would set up a nice Boston/Philly rivalry and Boston gets to keep growing from within. In Philly, Embiid gets all the media heat. Kawhi can just be Kawhi.
CBS has a San Antonio radio guy come out and say the Spurs paid him $20 MM for 9 games and that Kawhi was not hurt but refused to play, the Spurs trying to keep it together. Says Spurs will take to arbitration if Kawhi jakes it next year. http://www.cbssports.com/general/video/5ab66d1f-0c0e-47c4-8dc6-fc27a9261bbd
Spurs don't have to trade Kawhi right away. 76ers and Celtics have assets "beyond the 2018 draft" that are appealing. So the Spurs can take their time. Now, the Clippers have the 12/13 picks in 2018. And the Lakers want to add Kawhi before pitching FAs. So THEY have a timetable. Clock is ticking and I don't see the Spurs moving quickly. Spurs can wait. BUT, I don't expect them to have this Kawhi situation drag into the regular season.
he chose to sit out while getting paid 20+ million when he was healthy towards the end so he could goto the lakers. Just messed up all around.
Sounds like he's being manipulated by his uncle who is being manipulated by Magic Johnson. Behind that smile, Magic is a shrewd operating snake like Pat Riley, who I assume was a big influence. Also, Jerry West? The NBA has a lot of devilish executives. Very entertaining.
